Indoor Grow log >CFL to HPS in two months<

So, I've got an indoor light job that's setup to veg some seedlings a bit, it's a CFL/FL setup because I'm poor, and they always say the best things come from the poorest of people.

So, I tried my best. What I came up with is a simple box w/ some light deficiencies, but it's a 42 watt (2700 lumens, 2700k warm/yellow/orange) and a T18 15 wattage (700 lumens, weak...) 6500K (blue) tube.

I'm upgrading soon to a 65 watt CFL, once I stop by a real electrical depot for a larger socket... would be 4500 lumens instead and still same PAR level . . . better!

But, a simple veg grow so far; here's the setup

I'm going to log this for entertainment, and maybe you guys would help me in some problems I may run into! (or give good advice)

Also, I'll throw in a mushroom grow log too just for side kicks!

    :rastasmoke:

The camera is my phone, so it is not of the greatest quality. When it comes later I'll have a better one, so... yeah ha! In any case,

I tried to capture the idea of daylight as much as I could, skipping green all together; can't wait till I get the 65W CFL so the veg can eat up the blue spect.

Comments anyone? i'm open to all.. especially if you've gone this route before and could offer some advice.

I hope to get to flowering w/ a 400W MH or HPS setup, whichever I may find cheaper at the time; I'm expecting a m² grow area which i've also mapped out on paper.

I'm concerned; I really wanted to setup a soiless DWC setup but I'm unsure how to go from the soil here over...? would I Just wash off the roots gently and use rock-wool/coco peat?

Design pictures of the grow corner coming in the next month w/ pictures of creation. :]

I mean, in regards to the daylight spectrums... Cannabis' use of the light color spectrum green isn't used (for those who didnt know) blue is for strong vegetative growth, and the orange/red is needed for flowering dense buds. I've tried to supply both the blue spectrum area (6500K towards the top) to the orange/red (2700k) to similuate daylight consistently w/ both spectrums. . .

    That's the idea here.

one pot one plant. your going to want to transplant 2 of the seedlings in their own pot before its too late. and i would recommend removing the foil... it can cause hot spots and it doesnt reflect that great. other than that keep up the good work

Here's an update on the po'-mans rigged system...

Once getting the new lamp things have turned for the better, much happier plants at the moment. Will be jackin' in some 23w's to produce light on a cheaper basis...... then on to HPS or MH 400w system for flowering

Do you think I could get away with a smaller MH system, like a 250W assuming 1 or all three of these plants are fems? :wtf:

if you have the 250 mh hook it up......otherwise the cfl's should do fine for now.

Hey rusted, I just started a grow, i'm planning on flowering 4 plants to a height of 2.5-3ft with a 250 watt hps. I figure each plant will use 1 square foot so 4 square feet in total thats just over 60 watts per square foot. I'm pretty sure that will be enough for some good results, so I think a 250 will be good for you.

    Good luck!

My babies and I are moving to the new apartment for good today, so my next post ought to show some very strong changes, which coming home each day I can see the difference.

    8) Gots some plans for this new place... esp since prior to moving in, i've claimed the walk in closet as my own against my old lady, mwahaha to her I say, mwahaha.

    So, after a short situating period, this is what has become of the previous posts; I bent one out of contempt and anger, experimenting with the purpose;

had to whack off the center of one of the leaves due to a random white spot in the center of the leaf; switching to DWC in a week; looking for a cheap/inexpensive/discounted/on sale/preowned 250w mh setup...

going that route due to $$$ flow issues. :hippy:

going to move this post into the correct forum; is there a way i can delete this thread so I don't have multiple-synuous threads?
