Ive been checking out the "Bulldog" hostel. It seems like a really cool place for tokers with all the designs on the wall and stuff. My only question is, what is a hostel? Do they have decent sized rooms? Also, I saw that the Bulldog was in the Red Light District. Is it safe to stay there?

Bulldog is fine, and you have nothing to worry about being in the RLD.

You maY FIND HOWEVER, thats its full of English skin heads being a bit rowdy.

no skin heads in the last few years...80s and early 90s... its pretty cool now anywhere is cool if you use common sense and remember where you are and stick the main streets don't buy of dealers off the street, go into cafe's sit and enjoy the freedom off smoking in public its quiet a buzz getting stoned in a public place even today.and i've been smoking weed since the early 70s

Try Hotel Uptown, its above a coffeeshop, stayed there last time I was in Dam. the coffeeshop is Rookies and is in the Leidseplein ( very lively area )

Its not overpriced and the staff are friendly.

a little tip dont buy any dope of coffe shops in the red light its a big rip off they over charge and the buds not what u paid for.

red light is ok just be carefull me and my mates where there till 6am and u see some messed up stuff like ppl injecting on the streets.

cant remeber the names of the places i went t but the best i found was to walk from the train station in a straight line and ull see a alley on ur right they have a cyber cafe, pool tables down stairs and freindly staff.

another tip if u find some bud u like ask about larger amounts and u will usually get a discount.

and another tip watch out for the trams, they move silently and when ur stoned they can be very dangerous me and my cuz almost got runned down by one. The same goes for cyclists they dont stop for no1 so watch out.

as for the dealers on the bridges dont bother with them just walk past and avoid eye contact

Well I go to Amsterdam Every july long weekend it is the best place on earth (well for me anyways) I LOVE it the a place I truly feel at home, I love to smoke weed and let me tell you when you go in to a bar and you see the bartender smoking a cannon its Awsome. Its just that everyone there is a pot head and all on the same level.. ITs Great.....I stay at the bull dog its wicked there you get a room the thers a loung bar you can chill in 24hrs and only guests can ues its its a must stay sweet place and close to anything you want to do.........As for Coffee Shops I ya sorry i'm a bit bias cuz I believe Barney's is the BEST coffee shop in all of amsterdam the have numorous Canibis cup winners THE WOLDS bets weed all at one place.. Let me tell you in July 2004 my buddies and I sat down in one sitting smoked the entire weed menu was crazy.. I say you must Hit Barney's if your in Amsterdam.
