1st Grow..Closet..BagSeed...Cfl's
Jimmy,
i been usin cfls, for veg for about a year.
based on personal experience....
some strains r a lil more sensitve than others, but, here's decent rule of thumb thats been workin.
use 1 cfl over each sprout.
about 6 inches away at first, at groundbreaking.
slowly closer as they get a node or 2.
when they r 2-3 nodes and some leaf u can get as close as 2 inches.
lose the lil silver dish on the clip lites, its of no use and reflects heat onto the plant which can stress them.
also, the light dispersion is better from the side, keep horizontal to the plant as much as possible.
26/100w daylighter (higher the K# the better, the 6500's work good)
u can use a lesser wattage at the very beginning, but it will want the 26/100 or as close as u can get in the higher spectrum.
flowering.
switch to the 'warms' 2300-2700K, same basic distance rules apply. try for around 100w equivelent
for better yeild, use as many as u can, surround the plant.
at one point, i used 12 x 26/100w 2700k's in flower on 1 plant that was about 1.5 ft tall. (1st grow thai thread)
at that number, its better off to go hps, trust me, been there.
u can browse my 1st thread for cfl use (and mistakes) thru the entire grow.
other threads are cfl for veg only.
fwiw,
i dont see any perlite in that soil, i think ya need some.
the mg soil aint as bad as some ppl say. i use a mix of mg, plain, n perlite n my latest soil grow is at 3 ft in week 5,
your mileage may vary
