Blunt trauma by falling light

I was installing new lights above my plants today and I accidentally let one end slip and fall hard on just one side of the plant. I lost about half of the very top bud spot (plant is untrimmed from birth) so I just cut off the whole tip--I thought that this tip would not heal completely so it would be better to get it out of the way. I also lost several other leaves and branches and the main stem bent a little.

Basically, what is the plant's capacity to heal from this sort of physical trauma? This is my first grow, so I was not expecting huge yield out of her, but I'm worried about the rest of the plant.

All that will happen is that the side shoots will "fight it out" to be "top bud"! You're likely to end up with 2 or more "main colas"! You just topped a bit late, is all! - Granny :hippy:
