Geert Wilders' Islamophobic documentary suffers a new set back
He'll just broadcast it on another network, or on someone else's server. I think something like 67% of the Dutch want to see the movie, and now they're going to be pissed about another encroachment on their freedom of speech. Does this mean that ALL sites who thoroughly question Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc., etc., etc., should all be banned? Someone somewhere isn't going to agree with the other peoples opinions, especially if they deem it 'hateful', but this has never stopped the haters before. Why now? Because Islam is such a distinctly taboo subject for the entire world? Unless the documentary is overtly hateful, which I really doubt, then I think he should be allowed to publish it. He's doing so at his own risk, anyway. The Netherlands are distancing themselves from Mr. Wilders and his documentary in justified fear of retribution from Islamic countries, fatwas from fanatical Muslims, all-out jihad, etc.
Like I've heard many an atheist say in the past: "If they're secure in their faith, they shouldn't feel threatened by another persons point of view."Mr. Clandestine Reviewed by Mr. Clandestine on . Geert Wilders' Islamophobic documentary suffers a new set back For apparently breaching guidelines on hate language. BBC NEWS | Europe | Dutch Islam film website 'shut' A website that a Dutch right-wing politician was planning to use to release a film expected to be fiercely critical of Islam has been suspended. The US hosting service, Network Solutions, said it was investigating complaints that it may have breached guidelines on hate language. Dutch politician Geert Wilders says the 15-minute film describes Islam as "the enemy of freedom". Rating: 5
