OTTAWA, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- A Canadian report says marijuana smoke contains more toxic compounds, including ammonia and hydrogen cyanide, than tobacco smoke.

Researchers, including David Moir of the Safe Environments Program in Kitchener, Ontario, determined ammonia levels were 20 times higher in marijuana smoke than in tobacco smoke, while hydrogen cyanide, nitric oxide and certain aromatic amines occurred at levels 3-5 times higher in the marijuana smoke, Science Daily said Tuesday.

The study was published in the Dec. 17 issue of American Chemical Society's journal Chemical Research in Toxicology.

Even with all those toxic shit that they found in the smoke, nobody has died from cannabis yet. Therefore, the study is bullshit to me and made only to continue scaring people.

the amount of cannabis smoked compared to that of tobacco is enough to say that the average person smokes a fraction of the amount of weed than tobacco, so do they compare it using those numbers, and i dont taste or smell amonia when i smoke, so it must be so small that it doesnt even matter. You still get higher of weed, make tobacco illegal, it doesnt do anything fun, just makes you smell bad when you walk past.

It is already widely known that cannabis has more carcinogens per volume. That is why it is important to invest in a vaporizer or learn how to put it into foods.

It is backwards to want ill patients who need cannabis for medical reasons to smoke the carcinogen-rich smoke, given their increased susceptibility to detrimental health effects.
