Well... today i was browsing aimlessly the web, and stumbled upon this.

Although I'd like nothing more than to have some quiet, alone time with my husband, I have some issues. For one, both of them use marijuana daily. I need advice on how to tell them that this invitation, however appreciated, will not come to fruition, and it's not OK for them to invite the boys directly or, for that matter, even mention it when they are within earshot. We do love them, illegal habits aside. So how do I say no without pushing them away?

I wont post her answer here, cause i think its very irritating (at least for me as a stoner). Anyway...

get high with them? i mean, if you know that they are smokers and you want them around, then dont let them smoke in your house, and tell them if they get caught that your not bailing them out and playing dumb. Really, people who dont smoke need to treat MJ like they would treat tobacco, not illegal, but frowned upon at most. If they did it right then they could regulate weed just as hard as alcohol. make it a felony if your underage, just dont make the age 21 or over, make it 18, its fine, we are adults, we can afterall vote.

haha I was thinking along the lines of " I trust you won't use any illegal substances while my children are in your house and nothing will be mentioned about them" which I could see being a reasonable answer. But the author's answer is soooo dumb and naive it's hilarious

"We love you, but you have a serious, illegal drug habit. I hope you can stop, but until you do my children will never spend time alone with you. I don't want to have to explain to my kids why they can't stay with you, so if you persist in suggesting in front of them that they visit on their own, we are all going to have to stop coming."

HAhaha oh man. Sad part is, people think this is the right thing to do.

I can see this person's concern. There are a lot of people out there who would not want their young kids to stay alone in an environment where they might be exposed to illegal drug use, regardless of how you personally felt about the habit or the people involved.

Also, it is totally wrong to get the kids excited about the possibility of visiting if they haven't cleared it with the parents first. Not cool to put parents in the position of having to be the "bad guy" by offering something to the kids that the parents won't allow.

"Allow the kids to visit, if you trust the caregivers. Either they can be trusted with your children, or they cannot."

Basically. I don't really care enough to write a "real" answer.
