This is how it rolls:
Clones
Ph 5.8, just do what the instructions say on the grodan with 300ppm AN A+B Bloom, also use hormone when planting. Not giving up which hormone, you have to learn something like I did.
So since this grow is in its infancy, I'll just say that I don't do email much and this is a hobby. Let me apologize in advance for not replying in 2 minutes or 2 days or 2 weeks, but I work and have another life. I just enjoy this too much to keep it to myself and hopefully someone benefits. But I'm not telling you which hormone I use to clone. It's readily available.
The ones in the chamber are about 2 days, the others are 5.
I'll move on to the veg next...greenracer Reviewed by greenracer on . Here is the veg setup. Most are right, a few I have to water manually until I figure out who will be mom and who will be a good little ho. Meantime, there are a few types, I'll get into that later.
450ppm AB Grow
5.6ph
Temps are great, not a sealed room.
I like it, heats the house.
Not adding anything else at this point.
I have all the Advanced line, but just am choosing to show what each individual nutrient does. Basically, there are a few types and I hope to have 3-4 of each going in each stage, preferrably 4 to test my variables 2 x 2, if that makes sense.
Mainly using the KISS method of growing, if anyone is curious.

And the flower, just flipped 2 days ago.
700ppm AB Bloom
5.7-5.9 ph, I like it at 5.8 and it averages that with little help.
It's all a drip system, just 2 different ways, each set up to keep that area clean. I really like it, but have only tried this and Ebb/Flow which did ok but I hated the setup and cleanup. Results were not that good either. I think the ebb/flow disturbs the roots myself, but I AM a rookie and please don't think this is only my effort you are seeing. 90% was found on this board. Thank you Sticky and Weedhound in particular, oh and that Welsh chap. Sorry forgot your name man, but it was like Artreyou? Hope you see the difference...
Runs 24/7 except the coconuts, which are watered once a day and seem to like that just fine. I drip those too because I'm lazy.
1000W
Temps are great, not adding too much CO2 but it's there.
The smaller ones are from a previous grow and are basically placeholders that really turn out great. They just don't turn out a lot but I'm working on that strain and should have some good results with it in time.

So I figured to put out what I've learned, and add my own steps to some of this because I myself was clueless as to how to do some of the more tedious tasks involved in setting up correctly.
The first thing I noticed when I checked out the hydrotron balls was how much dust and small particles were in that 50L bag - DAMN! So after cleaning the 4th bag, I think I have something that is relatively quiet and clean.
1. Realize there is a LOT of dust in this stuff and it will get EVERYWHERE if not dampened quickly. I did this in the bathroom because I can't possibly go outside.
2. Look at the bag, there is a blue section on one side. You'll need to cut this a bit bigger than it is.
3. Fill a few 5 gal buckets a little less than half way with water, keep them in your tub/shower.
4. Fill these with balls. This will prevent so much dust flying everywhere.
5. If you don't use all of them at once or want to break the process down into manageable steps, then only use 1 or 2 bucketfulls at a time.
6. Get 2 more buckets, complete with the baskets that fit in them or a collander that will sit on the rim of the bucket.
7. Split up the balls so you have half in one bucket, half in another. The crucial part here is to only use enough to fill your collander or basket. Keep the rest separate.
8. Now you should have a couple of collander fulls and buckets to match. Take out one collander full and rinse under the faucet.
9. Now fill a bucket about half way and pour the collander into it.
10. Swish around and then pour back through collander.
11. Now repeat 8-10 a few times and you'll notice the water is getting cleaner. I do 8-10 about 5 times. Takes about 5 minutes.
12. Pour balls into a clean container, and go to work on the rest in the tub or shower.
I found that keeping water in the buckets while pouring the balls out prevents the clickety clack of balls on plastic and helps to wash them at the same time.
To Ph them down, it gets a bit messy. I use a big storage container and can put all the balls in it plus a good amount of water. Then I put a 275+- gpm pump in the bottom to get the water churning. Begin to ph down slowly to desired level.
I use a collander to get the balls out of the big container and put them into 5 gals until needed.
Any other suggestions would be great, but this is how I have worked things out to keep things quiet (neighbors) and clean (roommates). It still takes about an hour or so to clean a 50L bag of hydrotron, but that's better than the 2-3 hours it used to take me. :wtf:
I'll post more of these as this log goes on to show how I do some background stuff. The CFL setup was easy, too, so I will explain that later as well.
Also adding Voodoo and Carbo load and am switching to a Fulvic Acid to use as a ph Down. Might try bud blood or big bud and even some Sensizym later.
Peace:rastasmoke:

So I have been trying to get my posts in but other responsibilities blah blah blah. Doesn't look like many people were too interested in this anyway, so it's for personal enjoyment.
The big plants are on 1050ppms, various AN nutes including ME Bloom Tea, Overdrive, Sensizym, A&B, Pirahna, Carboload, Big Bud, everything mixed at about 75%, with everything but A&B done first, then A&B used to top off the resi. One thing I noticed is when I mix it up at what I think are the "right" proportions, the Ph is about 5.8, darn near perfect. And it stays that way.
Had some knats come in and try to hurt the ladies and am still trying to get rid of all the dead ones. Used some great stuff from the store and it seems to work. Also seeing some mites now and am going to figure that one out. Used Israeli bacteria for the fruit fly and knats, works great. No I'm not kidding.
