    Possible Problems

I have a DWC set up and I think I'm running into a few problems with my plants. It seems a few a them are getting lil brown spots and the tips are yellowing. Also, some of them are curling upwards and a few are drooping. The only thing in the res is water, ST, and less than teaspoon of H202 thas all been pH'ed. What could be the problem, i'll be posting some pics here in a few. SOS!!!!

What does "been ph'd" mean? What is the ph of your solution right now? Generally in hydro the ph in hydro should be checked and adjusted once to twice a day. Have you been doing this?

Herbie I think he means superthrive. But without having more info than "some ST" its pretty hard to say whats going on.

yes...ST is SuperThrive. And when i said "ph'ed" i meant, it's all been mixed like it's supposed to and set to the proper pH for a hydro system being somewhere near the 5.8-6.2 range. But to answer u, yes i check the pH at LEAST 2 times a day. I've noticed that it gradually goes up over nite but not by much. Only by a few tenths of a point, maybe 0.1-0.4 points over night.

Here are the pics I promise, excuse them it's with a camera phone

Pic 1...Cotton candy thats curled up way too much for my liking

Pic 2...Blue Mystic baby thas looking a bit droopy, what do yall think?

Pic 3...This is the free Skunky Haze that looks a bit small for a week

Pic 4...Double Gum that's way behind to me as far as growth goes

Pic 5...Lastly, is a bag seed that from germination exploded. After leaving it in the paper towel for 2 days it had tap roots that were close to 4 inches. I was shocked. It's taking better to the DWC system cause it already has roots soaking in res. All other plants are at least a few days older and have no roots showing through the rockwool yet. I'm going to give it a few days cause I transplanted into rockwool form peat pellets a few days ago. So, we'll see.

Any suggestions, the plants are turning yellow and getting the little spots on them. I dont wanna lose the little ones

I see it's extremely difficult to get responses in the forums. I guess i'll continue to try and figure this out myself. I mean temps are steady between 77-82 during the day with sun outside and CFL's glowing. pH is all within range, juss changed the res so Idk whats going on. I'd ask for suggestions, but it seems that may be a lil far fetched lol I'll keep trying to diagnose the problems, and i'll let those of you out there know he cares to read what happens. Thanx

The main problem is that you are using rockwool, which of course sucks really bad and is not for beginners. Did you condition your rockwool first?

Also, if you want a better response to plant problems, maybe you should post them in the plant problem section.

As far as conditioning, I ran water through em first before I put the seedlings in them. I know thas prolly not the conditioning you're mentioning though. And I hear ya, but i've also seen others post their possible problems in the section that they're growing in, thas why i did that. But cool, i'll try that next time.

Since u said rockwool isnt the best, what do you suggest as a good starting medium for going into a DWC? Thanx
