just got back from amsterdam so i thought i'd submit my field report.
(also i dont know whether you lot know but theres no alcohol in any coffeeshops now,but most of the pubs dont mind you smoking(just remember to ask first;-)).
first dampkring,my favorite!multiple branches in amsterdam,not to expensive,and enough room to sit and chill
dampkring prices for dank range from 15 euros (G13 haze) to 5euros (jamican).hash prices go as high as 50 euros(A grade ice hash)but start at around 5
in dampkring i sampled
G13 haze(excellent smell very old school earthy stink,i've never smelt the cat piss strain but i imagine it would be like this.thick smoke and a great taste smooth on the throat.very potent affects IMO an excellent sedative also i imagine great for pain relief).but a bit to strong for me to smoke regularly.12.50 per gram.
Sour diesel(nice smell but i prefer a good stink(not nice).smooth taste with the usual diesel after taste.light head stone.8 per gram
jamaican(worst weed i've ever had in amdam.better off smoking shade leaves,got 5 seeds in a gram bag.no high.5.00 per gram
shanti hash(very nice old school morrocan style hash,great smell and taste.not much of a high,but im used to ice hash now.8.00 per gram.
next coffee shop is the famous Greenhouse seed co coffee shop.nice range of shops i went in 3,2 were coffee shops 1 was a seed/head/grow shop.coffee shops were expensive,great selection,weed though was well cured and smoked well,nice staff too,very friendly girls.
in the greenhouse i had,
arjans ultra haze#1(unfortunatly i had the G13 first and that is better in every aspect,but only just.just like G13 great taste,nice smoke good for pain relief and relaxing.BUT this was more expensive.16.00 per gram
lemon skunk(excellent strain,excellent stink when smoked,great smooth taste,easy on the throat.nice up high great for smoking with friends.best part it was cheap as well.arjans getting an order for seeds as i type!.7.50 per gram.
next coffee shop is grey area.very expensive,very small,small selection,didnt think much of this place strikes me as a tourist trap,but honestly i didnt spend much time here and i dont like crowds so im biased!.didnt buy anything much to busy for me!.
next coffee shop was the Rokerij,excellent shops(i went in two)nice range ,reasonable prices great service,locals use it too(always a good sign!)
in the Rokerij i had
bubblegum(my friend liked this a lot more than me,fruity citrus taste,light smell when smoked(good for people in apartments)nice high not too strong,good for sitting round with friends bit weak for me though.8.00 a gram
Laughing buddha(cant say enough good things about this,along with lemon skunk my favorite of this trip.thick potent stench when smoked,heavy smoke caresses the throat before delivering a great high.not as strong as G13 but a better all rounder.cheap too at 7.50 per gram.
well thats the lot unfortunatly i didnt get to try burmese kush,paradise seeds opium and C99 but theres always next time!!!

Actually some coffeeshops do sell alcohol in Amsterdam, I have never seen any in any other cities in Holland, I think it is for the tourists they allow it.

Sorry mate you are quite right they ARE clamping down on selling booze in the coffeeshops, the bastards. Went there for first time in a year and a half to see The Kills, went into my favourite bar/cofeeshop Cafe 420 (Zappa's Bar otherwise known as), bought a gram of Neville's Haze which was a very nice bit of weed actually, sat down at the bar. "Een amsterdametje, alst u blieft" Sorry, NO beer anyome... WHAT!!!!!! I'm looking up and down the bar, not a beer tap in sight.... damn!

But I did find a bar/coffeeshop that does allow alcohol, the fucking Bulldog! I hate that place.

Oh well, all good things must come to an end.

Amsterdam really is changing.

sucks dosen't it?.i was speaking with a dutch guy while i was over there,he said the EU was behind it.The're(the dutch)being made the scapegoats for europes drug problems,they've changed the law on growing weed for personal use as well(i dont know how the article was in dutch).

I don't understand this country. You can go to prison for 1 month and get fined 2,250 euro for possession of more than 5g, and for more than 30g you can get 4 years! Yet at the same time (I think) you are allowed to cultivate 5 plants in your house.

So.... assuming you get a good crop, how the fuck can it be legal to grow a shit load of weed, then subsequently illegal to own the buds from it?

They generally don't prosecute people for possession, but it is still unsettling to know that they could if they wanted to.

haven't they figured it out, the say "NO" to drugs works till you hit the blunt ha, trust me. they found a couple of seeds and stems, and a roach paper and i got a ticket....complete bs.
