Since you mention that you have no medical records, it will be a bit harder, but not much.
You need to go to the NORML site and start doctor shopping. Call and ask how much it will cost you. The reason why is that, as a general rule, the cheaper the doctor or clinic, the less "picky" they are.
Check the local 'little' papers- they often have ads for MMJ clinics. Also, when on campus, ask at the "Stoner's" table - it's usually in the lounge or cafeteria. They will know the "best" local clinics and since you are not asking to score, should be willing to give you the info.
To avoid all that hassle, here's what I'd do. (1) Before you move, go to a regular doctor. There are walk-in clinics just about everywhere. Complain about your migraines and get a prescription to Imatrix (or however it's spelled). You should see a doctor, anyway, just to rule out brain tumors, etc and get a pre-college check up! (2) Fill the prescription and not take it. (3) Walk in to any NORML recommended doctor's office and bring the half emptied bottle- proving your medical history. Get legal.
Once you get an appointment, it's easy. You get a quicky check up. Have a short chat with the doctor. Pay the receptionist and she hands you a signed piece of paper, stating "Dr. ___ recommends that you use cannabis for your medical condition". You walk out "legal". The note from the doctor is ALL you need!
County cards are optional, but can save you some hassle with the cops. Be sure to check out the local ordinances on cannabis- they vary widely- especially on growing.
Dispensary cards are to get you into a certain dispensary and no others.

That was great advice Granny!
There are a couple doctors up here that I know of. Dr Miller isn't accepting new patients at the moment and Dr. Hany Assad, who is listed on Norml's site.
Dr. Assad, by law, can not treat females because of past inappropriate behavior, so I would really think twice before giving him your money.
I found it a lot less hassle just to go to Medicann in Ukiah, CA. They prefer that you bring past medical records but don't require it.

Considering the bronchodilatory effect that THC has, your asthma should also qualify you. Thought you might like to read some of the studies-

Hey, Granny thanks for the great info up there as usual.
Do you happen to have any links to studies on insulin resistance and if marijuana helps with that? Thanks in advance!
