My high tolerance - why do I have it?

sounds like the first stages of depression to me.

A couple of years ago I went through the same thing, I had to smoke a lot more than my friends to get high, and even after long tolerance breaks I would not get very high. I even made posts just like yours and got very similar answers.

sadly they were all wrong and my depression got worse and worse until I nearly killed myself. go to a counselor or a doc and talk about it, dont be worried about being labeled or judged, your life is more important than your ego

Sorry for the long delay. Iâ??ve been busy with St.Patrickâ??s Day, family, girlfriend and that stuff. As I wrote down in a previous post, the results were better.

Bowl #1: 1 big hit
First 5 min: No effect
Next 5 min: I feel slight effects but itâ??s really not a substantial difference.

Bowl #2: 2 hits
First 5 min: same effect as before
Next 5 min: feeling it creep up on me a little

Bowl #3: 3 tiny hits
First 5 min: still creeping up on me, took 3 small hits because of chest pains
Next 5 min: tingling is hitting me through out my body

Bowl #4: 2 hits
First 5 min: same effects as before
Next 5 min: hunger, rapid thoughts, tingling, slowness in movement (or at least feeling it)

Bowl #5: 1 big hit
First 5 min: same effects as before
Next 5 min: Confused feeling in the high, itâ??s like Iâ??m coming down from the first bowls but coming up from the last bowls, and the high is just swinging up and down making me feel dizzy and uncomfortable. The high is bearable, nothing intense; not as high as I would have liked to have been. I donâ??t have the giggles, I feel mellow but sober at the same timeâ?¦I canâ??t really explain it.

cannabis hits you as you take it....dont worry about it too much because the more you worry yourself the worse its gonna get...

its because when you smoke, you dont really wanna question how high you are...it just takes away from it....all tolerance is, is getting used to being high. If you smoke everyday and smoke everyday for a long time...what is high any more? its normal...

Looks like you got a real bad problem,When I found I had to use more weed to get me where I want to be,I tried going about a week without smoking....which was hard,cause my back pains are a killer.But it worked.
Hve you tried vaporizing? t you would use less weed........If your like some of us and burn on a daily basis,thats alot of money to be burning away.If it takes you all this weed to get high,Using a vape,you sorta can use less to get the job done.

So I read a lot of posts on this site and see about how much people smoke on a daily/weekly basis on the numerous "how much you smoke" threads along with the usual "tolerance" thread and I freak out at the results I find.

In my readings, I see people smoke 2x, 3x, 4x, hell, even 5x the amount I smoke in a week, and yet, my tolerance is through the roof and probably higher than most of you all. This is not something I want as you can all imagine.

So I did a little test last Saturday (7 days ago). I smoked a few bowls.

Method of usage: Glass bong
Bowl size: 0.2 grams
Interval between bowls: 10 minutes

Bowl #1: 2 medium hits
First 5 min: no effect
Next 5 min: I feel the weed affecting me SLIGHTLY. I can't pinpoint what I'm feeling but there is a slight difference than before smoking.

Bowl #2: 3 small hits
First 5 min: Feeling that slight difference, still can't pinpoint what it is.
Next 5 min: Feeling the same

Bowl #3: 2 medium hits
First 5 min: the same as before
Next 5 min: slight tingling feeling in my legs. (25 min after first bowl to feel something conclusive)

Bowl #4: 1 big hit, 1 very small hit
First 5 min: throat is burning from the big first hit of this bowl. Overall, still feeling the legs tingle a bit.
Next 5 min: Thoughts are coming and going a little, the tingling expanded to my feet.

Bowl #5: 3 small hits
First 5 min: Tingling expanded throughout my legs, arms, fingers, toes. Thoughts are coming and going. Chest is beginning to hurt a little.
Next 5 min: Tingling on the back of my neck and on top of my head. Feeling a screen over my eyes when I look around. Thoughts are coming and going rapidly now. Head is feeling cloudy. Stomach is growling a little.

Time spent: 1 hour
Weed smoked: 0.9g - 1.1g (~1g)

5 bowls for decent effects. Nothing spectacular.

Stopped smoking since the experiment. Today is 1 week after I did it, and tonight I will repeat the experiment to see what effect a 1 week break from cannabis will have on me.

Non-smoking methods tried in the past:

eating: 15-20 times. used a lot of bud to try and get fucked up, felt a mild high 4-5 times. about an ounce wasted in all those attempts.

lightbulb vaporizer: Don't own a real vape, tried this little piece of shit. smoked 2 "bowls" felt nothing. Made me look like a crack head too. 2 big thumbs down for this method.

Sometimes my tolerance really gets to me too. I try to play mind games with myself to boost my high. One thing I do is after I'm done smoking and gone on to whatever else I like to visualize myself smoking the weed, as a memory, and just say to myself damn, that was a good bit of bud you just smoked. That seems to take my mind off the fact that I should be higher and it makes my high go up. Another issue is that when I first light up I already have it in my head that its gonna take me a whole bunch of weed to get high and that fucks with my head. So just build it up for yourself before you smoke tell yourself "man I'm bout to get fucked up!" I know it sounds stupid but if you get yourself in a n00b smokers mindset you'll have the n00b smokers high. :thumbsup:

First of all, I think you're over thinking this. You're making it way more serious than it actually is. Smoke better weed, and more of it. OR Stop smoking for a few weeks, than come back. Don't log your bowls and highs, it'll ruin it. Don't think about it so much and just do it..enjoy it..have fun with it..you're sucking the life outta something that should be enjoyable. If you aren't getting high and it's bothering you..stop smoking. Technically you're wasting your money.

I laugh when kids who smoke schwag or commercial shit think their tollerance is high (Not saying the OP does or anything, I'm not making assumptions haha) then I smoke them out with some mk-ultra or some ridiculous shit (Stuff I have now smells remeniscent of sweet tea) and they pull a whitey and have to call in sick to work.
