The only sure way to get rid of evidence on a computer / memory device.. would be burn it. Burning it gets rid of everything that could possibly link it to you.

He wasn't advocating arson, he was saying burn the sd card with the pics on it or burn the comp's hard drive.

There are numerous programs that claim to completely wipe a hard drive, mem card etc clean. This is not entirely true. Many of said programs are far more thorough than simply doing a system restore and reinstall operating system, but professionals wasting lots of your tax money may still find evidence, you would be surprised. Computer forensics is AMAZING these days

Regarding the legality and the original question of this thread, pictures can be incriminating if there is reason to believe you took them. Many digital cameras will upload camera info including camera name and model when you upload a pic. Right click a pic and go to properties, under one of those tabs you will see all kinds of info about your camera and as of now I know of no way to edit or delete this info.

Be on the safe side, store all pics on something like an sd card or a small hard drive you don't need and if necessary, torch the tiny hard drive or sd card. Not anything else.. lol
