    Lumens.. Kelvins.. very confused

ok, ive read ALOT of info on these forums and well, im really confused, some people say one thing then some people say the opposite and APPARENTLY it all works out the same...

    OK, first of all!
Is there a forumla to calculate Kelvins to Lumens?

    But more importantly..
    Can lumens be added up? IE;
    A globe producing 2000 lumens + a globe that is 3000 lumens
    Does this = 5000 lumens?

    OR (since im totally confused)

    A globe producing 6500k + another 6500k
    Does this = 13 000k?

Is there a need for that much kelvins? the more the better? Except for ventilation and heat issues.
    ???

    FINALLY:
I need this to be plain and simple, i cant handle reading all what i have again cos im going to be so confused i wont grow.. Which i really want to :S

BUT, Whats the best way to go, if I WANT TO grow with CFL's?
Buy a few CFL's that equal to a good ammount?
and can i use the same lights i used for veg for flowering or do i have to buy new ones that are weaker? for flowering...

    I dont get it..

    HELP ME

    No.
They are completely different, and cannot be interchanged.

    yes

    No.
Kelvin is the color of the bulb. 6500k plus 6500k is still 6500k.

Get 6500k bulbs fro veg, and 2700k bulbs for flower.
Be sure you have at least 70 watts (actual watts, not 'equivalent' watts) per square foot of plant canopy.
