Fire hazard
The 42 watt CFLs get much hotter than the 23s... at least mine do.
I replaced two 42 watt CFLs with six 23 watt ones, and my temps dropped by around 8-10 degrees.

With my new lights it gets realy hot (100F) with the lid closed, but when the top is off it drops to (80f). So is it ok when i am at home to use all the clfs with the lid off but when i leave my house to turn some lights off so the heat will not be as high. Right now i have 8 cfls 2 of them being 42 watt and the rest 23 watt. So i just want to leave the 42 watt ones on when i am away. Does anyone understand? Just want to Rating: 5
