Anything she had here she earned with hard work, just like any other immigrant who flees a repressive or impoverished homeland knowing that they are going to have to bust ass to get somewhere.
She didn't come here looking for handouts or welfare- I don't think it's fair to a woman of her accomplishments to say that she's ungrateful for what was 'given' her, when, in truth, the only gift was the CHANCE to succeed away from the Communist system she despised. The rest was all her own doing.
