peat pellet and peat cup
Is a peat pellet a good thing to germinate seeds in? Would a peat cup be good to start plant in after germination?

I would recommend staying away from peat. Its very acdic, and can hold way to much water leading to dampening off. Also, there is a netting that goes arond the pellet to hold it together that is suprisingly tough for lil mj roots to break through.
Stay with just some seedling starter soil in some 6 pack seed starting containers. Stay away from MG and other soils that come prefertalized. Good luck!

Carinia is right that peat is too acidic for cannabis, and the nets are too tough.
Luckly the peat pucks are pH adjusted with lime- the amount of time your little plant spends in there is short if you do it correctly, and as long as you make the transplant into a much better soil, you shouldn't see any problems.
If you use pucks or juffypots, when you transplant, shred the pot or net up a little bit to let the roots grow more freely before planting.
