    Shopping for Clones

When you go to a club for clones is 6 the most you can buy?

Ive read some posts on other sites and see sometimes people think they brought spider mites home and the club says not possible. Some people trust the plants genetics from certain people and know when its thier plant or not. So for example one person was saying no way thats my clones if its not in rockwool........and I was just wondering if anyone here knows who has bad clones that I should avoid?

Having never been to the clubs, could I probably get decent clones from a delivery service or is the selection say at NNCC make it worth a 100 trip?

    Shopping for Clones

For the club to say it's not possible that mites were transferred to you via their shop is pretty bold. Mites and their eggs are TINY and a grower walking into the club with mites on his CLOTHING AND HAIR could potentially even lead to an infestation! My own mites, which I have now suffered for a year, came from visiting a friend who had them, even after stripping buckass nekkid at the bottom of the stairs before going into my apartment!

A trained eye might recognize the style of certain clone providers' products- how many nodes does the clone have? Does it show stress symptoms? Are the leaves clipped at all, how many, and how aggressively?

Strains also have different appearances and while you can't say that IS a specific strain, you also CAN say that a clone COULDN'T POSSIBLY be another.

Always quarantine clones when bringing them home, preferably in another part of the house, or a different building entirely, and I recommend treating with a systemic miticide [AVID] or pyrethrin bombs during this time period.

    Shopping for Clones

As someone who gives out clones at a patient resource center, I can tell you there is NO WAY to be absolutely sure a clone doesn't have mites.
We have had all kinds of situations arise. One guy thought he had gotten mites from us, but later realized they were in the cooler he took them home in.
Here in Oregon, mites are ubiquitous.
Portland is the 'Rose City'. Mites live on the roses.
Ever heard if Oregon blackberries? The mites live on them too.
They're EVERYWHERE, and nearly impossible to get rid of permanently.

At the resource center, we have a sign up that says...

    [align=center]NOTICE!
These clones and cuttings were donated by
the members of Oregon Green Free.
They have been checked for bugs and disease.
    However, there are no guarantees.
Please quarantine all new plants until you are
ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that they will not bring
    problems into your garden.

[align=left]This is good advice no matter where you get your clones.
