To answer your question. Yes, cold water could put your plant into shock but the question is how cold is cold. You want to stay as close to soil temperature or better, but I think as long as your water is 65 degrees or warmer you're fine.

The seeds started sprouting last Sunday and looked fine but a few days ago the leaves started curling under and I just noticed that there are small brown spots on the leaves.
