    I've never done this before...

Hello all! I would love to grow my own plants but I'm not sure where to start. I need to keep things really simple. The bare minimum to get by for right now. How many plants should I grow just for personal use?

    start with 2-3 plants..

Get a book though, rather than asking every little question about growing (lighting, soil medium, sexing).
you will find that in one chapter of a simple growing book, there will be answers to many many questions you have..
    do some reading first..

as great as the internet is as a source of info, it can't always be taken as professional advice. I suggest BUYING a book from a local hemp shop, there's lots of authors and most of them are very reliable... the reason i say BUY a book, is because not only are you supporting the people the took the time research and write all of the information down.. but you''ll have a reliable source of grow info at your finger tips anytime you need it... you can constantly refer to it..

If you're gonna get a book, don't download it....

    it's free and very thorough.

As a newbie, the first response to my 1st post was "check out overgrow.com; then ask questions" BEST advice I was given!!!!! Unbelievable amount of info.

Buy the INdoor Marijuana Horticulture...The Indoor Bible ..By Jorge Cervantes. He covers all aspects of growing. lots of photos and illustrations, by far the best book on growing indoors that i have seen. Another good book is Marijuana Botany..By Robert Connell Clarke, it's an advanced study on the propagation and breeding of distinctive cannabis.
Both books will tell you just about everything you need to know.
