    Dry Buds!

I recently harvested and think i gave the buds a little too long to dry. In the begining when i hung up the stems the relative humidity was around 50% but by the time i jarred the buds it was only about 40% and it seemed the buds where really crunchy. I dried them about 8-11 days while relying on the stem snap method. Most of the buds remained extremely dry even after a few days of burping and have not been getting any moister. I have checked on them after giving them a few days of total closure and they still have the same feeling as the last time (although they smell awesome) I'm currently keeping them closed to cure for a few weeks. Is there anything I can do now or should i hold off for a few weeks? Would it be a good idea to let them cure for a few weeks even when they are so dry? Does anyone have any advice/oppinions on maybe putting them in a humidor to regain some moisture? By the way does anyone know what the ideal humidity should be for perfect buds?
    Thanks in advance :rasta:

no such thing as too dry brotha mosture breeds mold and other fungases IMO weed should allways be bone dry before you start to cure to avoid this issues and if u like a bit of moisture in ur smoke you can add it within a day or 2 before you intent to smoke it by putting some nugs in a bag with orange peels or apple slices or any thing like that really just tranfers small amoints of moisture to ur nugs if u dont like them totally bone dry

just no citrus stuff, it makes mold

i let it go bone dry too, you just cant beat crunchy when thrown around with sticky (as a weed description).. it sounds like a good cereal. but seriously, dont throw any citrus shit in yer weed, itll be moldy next day.

Take a small handfull of fresh cannabis leaves, and stick them in a glass jar with the buds. Open daily for a few minutes, to allow fresh air.

I'm assuming when you say dry you don't mean where it turns to dust when crumbling. At 40 to 50% RH your plants should be ready for the jar in less than 8 to 11 days. I don't think I've ever gone past 6 days.

If you put them in the jar too early they will moisten between openings. It's really no big deal. I've done it a couple times because I had to (had to go out of town for 3 days). I had someone open the jars each day for 15 minutes. When I returned, any buds still not dry enough can be dumped out and allowed to air a little while then back in jar.

Even moist I've never had a mold problem. But leave those moist nuggets a couple days without fresh air and there's the mold.

Thanks all for the advice  So should i leave the ultra dry buds to continue curing or should i introduce a little bit more moisture to them before leaving them in the jars to cure (after burping for the necessary amount of time)? If keep them dry i'll moisten them up a little bit before consuming. What if i don't have any fresh leaves to put in?

orange peel or grapefruit peel works wonders!

the reason people get mold from it is because they do it completely wrong.HERES THE CORRECT METHOD:

    1) look at your weed. if it is stupidly dry and crumbling keep reading. if you want it only mildly fresher, skip foward to step 4.
    2) look at your pinky fingernail. take a chunk of peel that size, and then cut off 1/10th of it. THIS IS ENOUGH!

    3) leave it in the curing jar for 12-24 hours and reinspect

    4) for bumping up freshness slighly, take a part 1/20th the size of your pinky fingernail.

    5) repeat if necessary, but remember that a tiny peel has a TON of moisture
