So After My 3rd Lung Infection
in the past 12 months....
I finally bought a vape. A Vapor Brothers regular ($35 bucks extra for 'hands free' did not seem worth it, $150 is already robbing one blind for a light bulb, a bowl, and a hose...)
I doubt my bronchitis is caused by smoking a mere 8th a week (and usually in a bong)
but I did not want to risk it, or have people say that I'm sick because of weed, as that hurts the medical cause.
So it will arrive in a few... until then I am stuck with Greg Green's light-bulb vape (I know the bowls are smaller, but damn.. you would think 4 of them would do the trick)
I have always heard it took less from a vape to get high... not more. Hopefully the light-bulb is just extremely inefficient..
:rastasmoke:
Who likes/hates Vapor Brothers? And how is it quitting smoking cold turkey and switching to a vape?

Yea I got my wood box for $65 on ebay and LOVE it.
As for the lightbulb vape...Maybe heat it up just a bit more...Conduction vapes though don't EVER work as good as convection. I have both. I'm convinced that once you get the vape bros and figure out where the sweet spot it with the temperature, you'll be much happier. I have a digital and I set it to 180c. I set my non-digital conduction to 3/4 of the way up...
Give it a minute or two to warm up before you try to use it.
Vaporizing is not cheap to get into but you're going to figure out pretty quick why you should get a digital with hands free operation. It's well worth the cost. I use it in tandem with my bong sometimes too...
But this isn't your $8.95 metal pipe game that you're used to. This is for those who can appreciate the return on investment.

So After My 3rd Lung Infection
I can tell you for sure that it's easier on your lungs. I had bad chronic bronchitis when I was a kid. It stopped when I hit puberty but probably affected my lungs long term. Smoked cigs for many years and even though I quit 12 yrs. ago, smoking weed was bothering me to the point where I was seriously thinking of quitting. Vapor gave my lungs a new lease on life. Made a huge difference.
The high is a little bit different. Couchlock inducing toxins like carbon monoxide and benzene are greatly reduced or eliminated. As for using less with vaping, a lot of people say yes. I use more, but that's not saying much since I had tapered off to very little before trying a vape. I had no problem switching 100% to vapor. I was motivated, but I also fell in love with the taste and smell compared to smoke.
It might be an adjustment for you going from a bong to a whip vape. Unlike a lightbulb, the VB is convection, and how much hot air hits the herb depends on the user's draw on the whip. You have to hit it easy or you draw in too much cold air and lower the temp below vaping range. The remains should be a medium brown, not black.
The Vapor Bros is a good box. I do hate the way the whip goes down over the heater cover. Too easy to dump your load. A lot of box vapes are like that though. Just change the box position. You can even turn it upside down.

I find that if I'm dumping stuff as I put the whip on the heater, it means I put too much in...
You're only supposed to fill it 1/3 of the way from gauze to heating element when attached. It really helps increase airflow (which means better efficiency)

$139 was the cheapest I found on the net that I deemed reliable, with warranty etc...$150 after $2 pack of screens, tax, etc.
Vaping is 100% safe, yeah?
I wonder if it will still help my insomnia without the couchlock effect
thnx all

Vapes are a good investment. I wouldn't be surprised if you threw down $400 or so for a high end vape in a couple months. I still bring out my bong occasionally though, variety is cool.
