I believe something like regulating child bearing is a step toward making a powerful government even more fascist.

In a "perfect" world there wouldnt be weirdos and everybody would be able to have their children... so this question only makes sense in our imperfect world.

You know that if there were a screening for parenthood, the responsible agency personnel would not be able to avoid consciously or unconsciously discriminating against whoever they happened to feel shouldn't breed so much... Eventually, only employed middle-class and above people with no family history of any type of genetic 'defect' (again, open to interpretation what constitutes a defective human) would be allowed to continue their genetic line...

Already people can be denied health insurance based on their genetic propensity to disease... it's only a matter of time...

On a more serious note I know a lot of people who should have never been allowed to have kids for various reasons so I am in favor of some kind of system that vets people before allowing them to have kids.

Vets, as in 'have your wife or husband neutered and spayed'? For child molesters/rapists/extremely violent people, I can see that. For the average schmuck that just might not make a good parent, I don't quite see that happening.

Since we don't live in a utopia, the best we can hope to do is to educate our children and try to instill a strong sense of commitment in them. Through both parents, if possible, but if not, then at least through one loving and caring parent. Hopefully, when they grow up, they'll understand what it means to truly have the commitment needed to be a good parent.

you have to have a liscence excuse the spelling
for driving a car, fishing, welders, to sell stocks, to sell real estate,in texas to catch lizards you have to have one.
but to have kids all you have to do is impregnate a woman.
no rules not even to be married.
a friend and i have had this discussion numerous times and its crazy that to catch a fish or a lizard to own a gun you have to have a permit but nothing to have kids.
welfare people having more kids so they can collect more welfare with no consideration for the kids just greed.its really sad.
i have a friend in the welfare department and the horror stories
i hear just make me so mad you want to just take some of these people out.

I've met some parents that are so fucked up that I have to say yes. I mean, met this one dude, total pill popper and his baby mother all fcked up too, in the case of meeting people like this (and that is just one instance I am reporting, seen many others that I was like, fuckas should not have kidz) I have to say YES.. and.. some people just shouldn't reproduce if you know wut i'm sayin...
