Hempy is a soil-less medium with 3 parts perlite to 1 part vermiculite. Standard practice is using a 2-gallon bucket with a drain hole 2 inches above the bottom of the planter so it simulates a water table or reservoir.

Watering every other day is necessary, perhaps daily if less than a 1-gallon container is used... hope that helps
