bozo lots of people use hydroton and are quite happy with it so don't base this one experience on it......it DOES have its advantages so once the ph issues stop you may find you like it fine.

Hey hydro, thanks for stopping by.
Well I use RO water but I never check the ph until right before I use things so I couldn't say.....I only check and adjust it very last before I use it.
What strain are you growing?

Well what kind of things can go wrong with hempys? I've seen a few people with issues and no clue why....someone said that you don't have to worry about ph with them....is that true? And do you feed them nute solution every time you water? And why wouldn't you want moving parts in your hydro so that you wouldln't have to water any more?
Pros?
Cons?
Do tell please.

Also with hempy it is a shorter height setup so I can grow easier in confined spaces. Last but not least it is simple for my GF to care for these girls when I don't have the time. She is slowly being trained into hydro, but has never grown before so we are taking it in small steps.
Technically it is a hydroponic setup - no soil, neutral medium - so it is easy to flush and recover from nute problems.
Overall it produces similar results to DWC or drip/WF types, but a bit smaller on yield. The downside is that I have to mix and manually water 3x week, and nute consumption is pretty heavy. But for the time being I think it suits me fine as a complement (not replacement!) for the hydro.
P.S. Just picked up a kickass Lumitec 600W digital ballast, Eye Hort HPS bulb and top of the line Daystar air cooled hood... When GDP is done in June I have an upgrade planned for the grow closet!

Dude that light sounds KILLER! Hortilux eye is supposed to be the best....that's what I use. And I LOVE my digital ballast.....I'll never go back to the standard ones again.
Thanks for the hempy info. I really want to get into these and explore them further so glad you know about them.Hey, can you transplant those things? Doesn't all the perlite break apart if you try it?
Here's a couple of pics of Fang yesterday.
