WH, listen, each "appliance" has a load rating in AMPS.
stay away from 14ga (sorry shov) unless its 6 ft in ur room.
12 ga (12 AWG) is the rating u should use for main run to any selected power source,
check ur breaker box, look if its 15 or 20 amp breakers.
then add up all useage on that line.

    2 man test.
1 person flicks breakers, whilst other identifies outlets affected by this breaker.
then add up amps on that circuit.
for a 20 amp breaker, try to go no higher than 15 amps.

i can explain deeper if needed.

    or

    what is not clear?

i will go back and read for solar idea.

In this country most of our lighting fixtures, TVs stereos, etc. are rated in watts, so that's why I converted the amps to watts. No problem with wiring 1000 watts of light on a 15 amp circuit (which will have 14 gauge wiring. Also, make sure the plug on any cord fits in the recepticle snug. This is very important. Replace any old warn out recepticles.

Also when you shop for an extention cord you'll find that 14 gauge is a very stout cord. The lighter gauges are 16 awg and 18 awg, which you'll find on reading lamps and such. You will not find 10 awg extention cords anywhere around here. 12 gauge is the max. It never hurts to oversize wiring though. Personally, I have an outlet right over the grow with the timer and power strip with a circuitbreaker. No extention cords.

Yesterday to cancer.....very surprising diagnosis that dropped right on our heads pretty much out of nowhere. So much for all my veterinary experience and (ha!) knowledge.

He was only 5 and 1/2 years old.

We are extremely blessed to have had him for the brief time we did.

PS....Mr Hound is having some medical tests done tomorrow as well.....please pray (or think kind thoughts) for normal results for HIS tests for us.

    Thanks everyone.

Holy crap you scared me with that title. I am so sorry for your loss, but I'm glad it's not an actual human boy. I lost a dog last year too and I know how bad it sucks. I'm very sorry to hear it. My 4-year-old still just doesn't get it. He keeps asking when we can do things with Copper again. Best wishes to you and yours. Thumbs up to Mr. Hound getting a check up. I hate the thought of going to a doctor or hospital, but I'm glad I had one a few months ago. I found out anemia is what's probably been making me exhausted all the time. (Still gotta look that up.)
