Light Cycle Interuptions, Oh No! *help stinky*

Today upon arriving home, I found my plants in the dark... the power must have gone out. This prompted some questions.

1. Just how bad are light cycle interruptions during the veg phase? Not nearly as bad as if occurred during flower?

2. If darkness occurs when the lights are supposed to be on, this is not nearly as bad as light interrupting the night, correct? If the power does go out, is it best to just turn it back on and the plants will just think a cloud passed overhead?

3. How bad is it if the light cycle varies up to a half an hour some days. i.e. lights are supposed to go off at 8:30, but one night a week it is 9:15 instead? I am not worried about this small difference in veg, but does it pose a problem for flower?

This is only because a bit of light leaks through the many fans in my cab and I thus have to put a black blanket over the cab when lights are off. The lights will still technically turn off at 8:30 every night, I just will not be able to put the blanket over them until 9:15 one night a week. The rest of the days, I can put the blanket over them at 8:30. And just shifting the cycle is not an option here as lights must turn on (and thus remove the blanket, because it can't be on when the lights/fans are on) before I leave in the morning, which is 7:30.

4. I have read that some people do 13 hours of light in flowering. I know this would be okay if one vegged in 24/0, but I vegged in 18/6. But as you can see, I think I have to do 11 hour nights because of my wack work schedule as you can see from #3

hey there, in my experience, a few screwd up light cycles dont really do anything to the plants. even full into bloom ive had the power go off for a half hour and nothing went wrong at all. in my opinion, if the light cycles get really thrown off for a long time, like a week or so, it only seems to affect yeild while as potency stays the same. so good luck with your crop, and i wouldn't worry about what has happend.

In flower, Extra dark won't hurt. Extra LIGHT will.
In veg, too much dark can cause flowering, and the delay you described.

Both previous posters are correct.
I DO have bad news for ya though... this weekend, the power at my place went out for 7 hours PLUS it flooded- over an inch of water on the floor- a waterfall when you opened the back door... good times.
Trust me your half hour light difference in veg isn't the worst thing that can happen
Just be certain that during flower, if you have a power outage, yank the plugs until you are certain the power is back on and going to STAY on, and adjust your timer to read the correct time before starting everything up again. More dark is FAR safer than more light!

And I should be fine to switch from 18/6 (he he it is actually kinda 17/7) to 13/11? I hate my work schedule grrr... but the plants will eventually figure out what's going on, yeah?

I am prolly much more worried about these small differences than the plants are huh?

When vegging they are very tolerant of lighting issues. Just don't give them 12 hrs of darkness. When flowering focus on the 12 hours of darkness.

Since the time change I get back on schedule by giving them 11.5 hours light for two days and all is back on schedule.
