    northern lights?

    It's alright. I'd give it a 5 or 6 out of 10.

It's not the most potent, but it's a good night time smoke if you have nothing to do. I didn't get any visuals from it, but I'm used to smoking Haze.

I feel like the people giving NL a mediocre review haven't smoked a well grown good strain of it. It's seriously great!

That's my latest sample of NL, although it is a hybrid with Hawaiian Indica 100% organically grown.

Have you ever thought other people have different preferences? When you're used to getting exotic strains of the haze and kush variety (Super Silver, Blueberry Kush, Hindu Kush, NYC Sour D's) which I usually do, it makes NL lights seem like mids. NLs no where near strong enough for my liking. If you haven't tried many other exotics, I can understand why you'd think that NL was so great. That's just my own personal opinion though; they're like assholes, everyone has one.

    I'm smokin' on G13xSomango right now... now that's a strain I'd rate a 9 or 10. NLs still about a 5 or 6 in my book.

I think that the NL we're used to here in MA is the mass-produced commercial version of the shit. Generally, it's boring. But I will also say that I enjoy a well-tended NL product very much, and you can certainly find it around. I grow some myself, in fact. I don't always want to get ripped off my rear end, and the flavor is pleasant.

As for this: "they're like assholes, everyone has one." that statement kinda irks me when included in a paragraph telling someone else she is wrong. But of course that's just my opinion...

Well, not to be an ass, but she did offer an opinion regarding an opinion I had. Like I said, it's only an opinion and EVERYONE has them... like assholes (should I have said buttholes?!). Is that not true? I didn't mean any disrespect from it. It's not like I was implying she was an asshole, because I certainly wasn't.

I can understand why you'd be irked if I came out and said she was an asshole and that she was blatantly wrong, but I didn't do that. I simply provided reasoning for my opinion that it was a "5 or 6". Is that so wrong?

No where in my post did I suggest she was wrong...

She did suggest that people giving it a poor rating were smoking an inferior strain, when in reality that was farther from the truth in my own instance. This was not grown by a commercial grower... very far from it. It was by a close friend who has been cultivating this strain for over 7 years now. I've been smoking it for 4 and every cycle it gets better.

You're right. The taste is good, but the effects are rather boring (in my own opinion). They are great for pain though because it really dulls the senses. I'm just not a big fan of couch-lock strains, and NL fits that bill. I'm really enjoy strains that leave you with mental clarity. I believe NL is better used as a cross than stand alone strain. Again, my own personal opinion.

I hope I didnâ??t offend you kaytowns, that wasnâ??t my intent.

Below, are some more strains of NL... just to show that I'm not providing my opinion based on bad phenotypes. They are not all from the same grower.

Hey it's cool, just a funny choice of words I guess.
That last one does look like an outstanding example of the strain- maybe not the best trim job on the planet, but a tasty product nonetheless. I hear ya on inferior phenos though. I have people running my stuff- all the same lines- and see really different results between growers. There's one guy I want to tell HEY you need to switch up to some better ferts man! but gotta figure out a way to be nice about it lol... so it doesn't sound like, 'yo your shit sucks compared to my OTHER buddy'... whcih it doesn't; it's easily as strong or stronger, but doesn't have the frosty look or smoothness to it

    Exactly.

Even after all this time, I still find it interesting how two plants, even from the same exact grow can look, smell, and smoke so differently.

I'm a bit of a weed snob myself and won't smoke it unless it's of extremely high quality.

I wish I was a seasoned grower. It really would have saved me a bunch of money over the years. I've come close a few times to dropping all that money on a proper set-up, but I decide against it as I'm living with three others, and we all know how people love to talk. And, when I move out in about 6 months, then what?! Hahaha.

Eventually, when I get my own place I will develop that set-up that keeps coming to me in my dreams... why is it that everytime I'm just about to cut the stalk, I wake up?!

    Just legalize it, damn it!

NL is still a good smoke. But as others have said, I've seen the quality of the smoke all over the chart. I grew it a couple times and it was great. I've had some from others with the same genetics and it wasn't half as good. Which really surprises me as I've had shitty grows but the genetics always come through. How folks go wrong and wind up with mediocre product I don't know. I may not get a good yield from a crummy crop but never had a problem with potency. As far as head high vs body high this strain should provide some of both.
