    Question about ventilation

I'm planning my next grow at the moment and I had a question about ventilation setup.

I've read rhizomes post about ventilation on a per room basis but it never specifically talked about what I had in mind.

For my future room it will be the following. This is just a really general list of space and ventilation setup.

    Room Size 6'x3'x3'
    400 watt MH/HPS (only 1 used at a time).
Sealed room with expanding insulating spray foam.
    1 6" intake Inline fan (424CFM)
    1 6" exhaust fan (424CFM)
    1 Carbon Filter
    1 6" Cool Tube
ducting Connecting the cool tube to exhaust/intake
    2 y splitter ducts
    1 vent grill
    1 oscillating fan

The part where I'm unsure about is the y splitter. I'm just not sure on whether these 2 fans would be enough to cool the light in the cool tube as well as provide some cooling/exhaust to entire room.

Here is how I imagine it (click here for diagram).

The vent grill is to create some pressure in the ducting otherwise the air will get pushed out of the path of least resistance. This way an equal flow of air will go through the cool tube as well as out the vent.

The exhaust side has the carbon scrubber up higher and does not have a vent as it will already be trying to pull through the restrictive cool tube. The carbon scrubber off to the side will allow it to pull additional air it couldn't get through the cool tube.

Would this work or is there not enough power. I'm looking at a fan called a Growbright Fan. It's a 6" Fan, uses 110 watts and pushes 424 CFM.

I may even get this setup this grow if it will work the way I'm hoping it will.

    Question about ventilation

I'd run one fan as room exhaust, dedicate one to the lights. Go w/ passive intake. Ya don't need to worry about balancing airflow that way

You could get away w/ much smaller fans- 4" er's would be fine, and cheaper.

so both inline fans as exhaust.

Ducting on both ends of the cool tube; one with no intake (just going to a hole which is conveniently next to one of my room's a/c vents) and the other end of the ducting going to a 4" or 6" inline fan.

Then a second fan connecting to a carbon filter just for the room exhaust.

Should I consider a second intake for the room itself in the form of, lets say, a duct fan?

I'm trying to find the simplest/cleanest way to accomplish my goals.

    Question about ventilation

Also the 6" fan I'm looking at is only $20 more than the 4" fan.

    the 4" is 99.95 and the 6" is 119.95.

Should I go ahead and just grab a few 6" fans for the slight price difference?

    Question about ventilation

If you are planning on upgrading to a larger grow set up later, or the price difference isn't that big of a deal, go for it.

IMO just a passive intake should be fine for a 400w room.
