Ya, i'm pretty much on the same page now... and also, i went to try to buy some blue cfls... but the highest wattage i found at home depot was like 23 watts/ 1300 lumens... where can i get more wattage lights?

Grow shops or online.

Really cfl's start to get inefficient after 42 watts I think. Plus bigger wattage lights make more heat than a bunch of smaller lights I think.

I'd just buy 2-3 4 packs of the 23 watt bulbs.

Please clarfiy the difference between soft white, daylight, and bright white and which is red and blue, sorry if the answer is out there, but i got tired of looking and just wanted to get it answered so i make sure i got the right light for my plants before its to late.. :D thanks guys. okay thanks for your input.. also can anyone tell me if this is a good system? its not to bad on price, how would this work for growing.. and if i bought this, what other things would i have to buy? or is a fan pretty much all i would need?

I have that exact same ballast and bulb. It works great.

I'm using it in a 6'x3'x3' area. I have a box fan for an intake and a box fan for an exhaust. With my outside room temperature at 75 the tops of the canopy will stay at about 78 with the light 8-10" away.
