Bong: So wonderful. It's really a treat to use this because there's a really nice ritual in place. I have a couple different options in this category for different moods. Typically though I use a glass liquid top with a diffuser and ash catcher that is about 18" high. It really does the trick though it's major downfall is obviously storage/hide-ability (Something I don't really worry about) and cleaning. Cleaning a bong isn't TOO hard but you DO have to do it occasionally and it does take some time, salt and rubbing alcohol. The worst part is cleaning that little glass screen.

Chillum: I just got two of them. A good sized glass one (about the same bowl size as the protopipe) and one that looks like a standard marlboro red. These are kinda my unexplored frontier but it seems like my issues that I had in my head are still the same. It's way easier to not spill when the bowl is pointed UP rather than out. Also, it's so direct that you do get a lot of bits of ash in your mouth when using it. You can use these as an emergency bowl (in zzDank's case) if your bong breaks and they're pretty easy to hide.

Spoon/sherlock: Ok, let me clarify, I don't have a typical 6" or less glass spoon. I have a wood guy that's transformable and a long gandalf (like 16" or so) and then all of my others are metal which is a different category. They're really nice, have a classic feel to the smoking technique which is important to me. There's a nice ritual with it (similar to the bong) where you poke at it and stir it while you're using it. They're hard to beat because they're so damn consistent. I've used a few though that were really more for show because the carb was placed funny. Also, I'm right handed when it comes to a pipe so I hate when the carb is put on the right side. But these vary so wildly that you can ALWAYS find something you love in this category plus they tend to not be huge thus making them easy to carry and hide.

Minibong/Bubbler: I made these the same category because I have a converted Vial (not homemade) that functions like a sherlock. The upside is the portability with water filtration. They are super-tough to clean compared to the others in my opinion so I tend to drift away from them. My mini you can take the water storage off to clean separately though. You also have to change the water a lot with these little guys but if you really like water filtration and not letting any ash though, this is a great choice.

Metal: This is always a double-edged sword. Metal is where you find really cool gadgets and really cheap pipes. My first pipe was a little metal guy. I have 3 little metal pipes right now and they're all 100% gadgety. I have the protopipe AKA the swiss army pipe which is fantastic for carrying a good 3-4g ground up and having a poker. Not to mention the fact that everything you need to clean it is included. It's pitfall though is that it is not self-igniting like my Solopipe. This thing is an engineering marvel though the bowl really only holds about .6g and there's no storage. It's a functioning lighter though so I tend to have this with me even if I'm using something else like my Budbomb which has the helix insert which swirls the smoke and cools it off. It's fantastic though you do have to put a screen in it (the other two have screens already) and it only holds about 1g in it's bowl. It's easy to clean but you'll clean it a lot. All of these metal pipes though are steel or brass and they taste like it. I do tend to prefer the taste in the right mood though so if you're not using aluminum ones, you're fine and may really love it.

Joint: I suck at rolling em but I have a machine now that does it. They're ultra portable, and ultra-cheap. The major pitfall to the joint is that you do waste a little bit:rasta:as you can't snuff it out like my metal pieces (I keep a marble around for the glass) Also, papers have a taste and you have to like the taste of those. As for taste, nothing beats glass. I just 12" papers and I'll tell you this, it was a lot of fun rolling that bad boy.

Blunt: I came up smoking blunts because my rapper friends seem to like them. I used to smoke cigarettes (2packs a day) so I don't really like em anymore because I crave cigarettes with these. They're wasteful of weed like a joint but taste more like a spliff. If you're a tobacco smoker, you'll have a stronger appreciation for them obviously. They're not as cheap as joints but admitedly, I prefer the taste blunts to most papers. (I prefer hemp over rice paper)

Vaporizer: I have two, the hot plate and the convection wood box style. I love them and they work wonderfully. The convection works a lot better and it's digital so I have a lot of control over the temperature (and thus the high produced). The major pitfalls is that you wind up with a lot more leftovers (Unlike ash) and they are the opposite of stealthy. They make great installation pieces in the right home though.

Edibles: Totally different high. Very easy to conceal and transport. The major pitfall is that you need a lot to make most recipes.

Home-made/other: Waterbongs/waterfalls and steamrollers are most what I was thinking and I used to be into making things though nowadays, I prefer to have nicer looking pieces. The one counter to this though is the paper towel roll steamroller with a chillum. That's a nice way to use it. The apple thing sounds like a lot more trouble than it's worth and the coke-bottle steamrollers with aluminium screens taste pretty gross. The Soda can method is good if you use a really fine pin though. I used to use that method for Salvia but still, it's aluminium. The major upside is that a successful home-build is quite an accomplishment. I remember we made a super-hookah out of 2 fish tanks, a dust buster, a toaster, duct tape and some aquarium hosing. Though you have a big mess to deal with after you build.

i chose bong because of smoothness and filtration. plus you can add ice and even the occasional snow to the mix.

when im chilling at my house i always smoke my bong, but when i'm out i smoke blunts. Before i bought my bong i used to just smoke weed like a ghetto black person (rolling multiple nick and dime blunts per day) but now when i go out i'll smoke only a couple of gram blunts or larger ones if i have the money or the connect. Even though a bong maximizes the use of the weed, there is nothing more relaxing and fun than smoking a few blunts with my friends while driving down the road (with lil wayne blasting thru the speakers of course.)

this week i have used a j pipe and my half home made bong(my bong broke so im using the down steam with a diffuser and ash catcher.lol andways i guess i like to change it up every once in a while. lol
but my homemade bong is legit and hits like a champ.

Bubbler. It's the only glass piece that I have. I will smoke joints if I had the ability to. Joints smell too much because of the constant burning, but if I use my bubbler I can divide the hits in between a couple minutes to keep my high steady and not to stink up the flat.
