Perhaps they're showing what he was like BEFORE he started smoking pot?

Just think: He's angry, violent, hyperanxious.... then he smokes a fattie. Calms right down. Goes and sits on the couch like a good little boy. Keeps smoking.... years later, he's a healthy, productive member of society, with or without the pot.

I like my version better. Has a bit more truth in there. :-P
