    STRAIN: The Cheese

I got my beans about 2 years ago from UK. I took a chance on these while I was ordering some other beans. BOY, what a surprise. This turned out to be the best strain I've grown so far. Gave some cuttings to others and they rave also.

Unfortunately I have no background on this strain. I'm sure it's a skunk of some kind, but haven't been able to find any info--UNTIL last night. I looked through some old High Times found the following on page 55 of March 2006 issue and I'll quote:

    SAY CHEESE

The Dutch certainly make great cheese, but the Cheese on everyone's lips in Amsterdam this year actually arrived via the UK, courtesy of British seed merchant Big Buddha. The man who cut the Cheese calls his signature strain a "unique, old-school smoke"--the work of an unknown breeder--and personally takes credit only for making it commercially viable. Up Next: Blue Cheese, a special crosss with DJ Short's Blueberry.

Perhaps if I'd known this before I ordered I wouldn't have been so surprised at it's oustanding qualities.

A friend of mine grew some of this, or a similar variation. I remember him complaining about the odor during flowering, so beware... apparently it's a stinky one. (Though that's never really a bad thing...)

    Fantastic sweet/spicy smell.

Two phenos- one fluffier and fuller, the other has very tight nuggets. The most trichs I've seen.

Not a real big yielder but I'll be working on that till I find exactly what it likes.

I'm a big fan of White Widow, but I've only been able to get moderate yields from them... no matter how much light they have during flowering. Next time I get a batch of WW growing, I'm really wanting to try some Canna PK13-14 with my regular nutrients. Never used the stuff before, but I've heard some good reports about it from people who actually grow. From what I hear from hydro shops, it's the shit... but then again, it's not cheap, so their enthusiasm isn't all that surprising.

I think it's time to get some Blue Cheese. Yummy

Someone gave me bud of Agent Orange last night. Not certain but I think he said it was a cross of California Orange Bud x Jack's Clearner. Has that nice strong rotten orange smell and the buzz was comparable to my Cheese. When they're done with the selection process to choose a mom I'll get a clone and report on it.

WOW, guess what I discovered. Someone I know was at the show in Orlando a few months ago. I won't give the long version but he had some of my cheese and guess who he shared it with? Ed Rosenthal. Ed really liked it. Said he was looking forward to the blue cheese.

Never had an endorsement from a celebrity before.

Hell yeah! Having that man endorse your smoke will definitely earn you some bragging rights!
