    Inverters won't work.
Well, it will work for a couple of hours, then you'll see a drop off in power, and the ballasts will shut down.
You'd need an endless supply of fully charged batteries, and someone to switch them every couple hours.
OK for an emergency back up, for a couple hours, but not to run your grow continuously.
Small generators will have the same problem, only they will run out of gas even faster.
    Don't waste your money.

10/4 on that but how do people get away with using all that power on there electric bill? is there another way all i was using b4 was about 1500w but i have a bigger place now and wanted to go bigger

and why does it say on the bigger ones 3000w or better that they will run 12hr continuously?

Run time is usually based on the size of fuel tank and usually they quote run time at 50% capacity. I don't know how people run so many watts in their homes. 2500 watts cost about $500 per month. Actually that's my total bill. My room costs about $150 a month for power.

Gas is expensive and with the unstable political environment in the world today its going to continue to get more expensive by approx 20% a year i think. Anyway try propane generators. Useing propane will be cheaper over time. I dont know if generators will work though. I have never used them. If anyone has experience with them lets hear it. Propane is cheaper than gas though.

As long as you pay your bill on time, there is nothing bad about having a large electric bill.

$150 out of $500 isnt bad imo.

When you think about how much wattage a plasma tv, or a computer left on 24/7 costs its not that unrealistic.

this is true but also i live in a small home, and i don't know if anyone knows this but homes are rated with a max kw consumption rating, and as sumone with a bigger home has more room to work in that range. but someone with a smaller home can't get away with that kindda jump. i live in a small double wide on 2 acers so i was gonna build a bigger shed like building, and put it in there as im in a 3x4 area now and i need more room.im using around 1500w for my room but i wanted to jump it to around 5 or 6000w and to jump up that much all the sudden is risky to me as i heard on the news last nite here i guy got busted with 540 plants in his home and they did'nt say how they got him i know they said something about smell but i just want to be real careful and was trying to find a quiet way that i could do other than using my electric if poss even if i could split it up and find a gen that i could use 6hrs and then switch to my electric for the other 6 as i'd only need it during flower
