Definitely, man. I mean, don't get me wrong, if you have the space, the need, and the means to cool a 1k in the veg room, it'll definitely grow large plants... but I'm having no problems with the setup you described, and actually prefer it that way to keep my energy costs down. It's very efficient, and the plants love it.

I mean 1k right now I think is a little overkill for vege(mh) and flower(hps). Maybe 400 vege and 1k for flower type deal.... I swear I saw somewhere where you can get similar results in the end if you veg with 400 compared to a 1k, and then flower with a 1k.
