This is typical in non referendum states.
It takes a few sessions of seeing the bill get more and more support before they finally 'see' it.
The next step is, they'll send it to an unfavorable committee like law enforcement.
The best we can do is continue as usual. Eventually the truth will win. It just takes longer when you have to wait for politicians to make it happen.
And don't view this as a defeat, just a bump in the road.
