Different lights will produce different results. Yes fluorescents can produce nice plants, but when you get down to it, watts are watts and lumen's are lumen's.

100 to 150 watts will not do a lot, 300-400 will do nicely for a few plants. Floros need to be a few inches from plant, warm (color) for veg and cool for flower.

Search the boards for a few fluorescent grows and you will see the different results capable with fluorescents.

Here's a pic of what can be done with about 400 watts of floros (half way through flowering), and I'm sure with some attention one could do much better.

Lighting questions Hey i am very new and i'm reading a lot, but i just was wondering... these questions are based on growing 4 plants under 4 4' lights. 1.) how will the plants turn out if i use only fluorescents through the whole growing proccess? 2.) i found these fluorescent bulbs at walmart that are for plants and aquariums. 1900 lumens/ 40 watts. and says specially designed to promote plant growth. would it be good to get an extra 2 fixtures to use 2 of these along with my other 4 cool white ones.
