WATERING IDEA
im planting next to a river...there is no power and i cant stream the water down to my plants...instead of traveling water down to them, i came up with an idea to hook a hose to the bottom of a bucket, dump the bucket in the water and tie it to both sides of the river so that pressure from the river builds in the bucket and pushes the water out the hose...then the water will flow in a tub or barrel of some sort where i can mix plant food...im planting 20 to 30 plants in buckets and tubs...i live in nova scotia, fairly experienced grower
anyone ever done something like this
or anyone have any tips for me
maby i can even gear up some kind of irrigation system with my setup
anyone with tips please let me knowjoesvx Reviewed by joesvx on . Hey man I don't think that would work so good but if the water is fairly close a small 12 volt battery and a marine bilge pump works really good.

Hey man I did not want to criticize your idea but I just don't think it would build up enough pressure to cause it to flow through the hose. I could be wrong.

A 360 GPH (gallon per hour) pump is the cheapest at about $ 18 US. A 500 GPH would be better at about $22 US. They go up to like 1200. A 500 GPH works good. Check out Bass Pro Shops or Cabelas.

i found out that putting a bucket with a hose will force the water to go uphill provided that there is enough current... i think it will work...the amount of current, size of hose hose and size of bucket will determine how far uphill the water will go
