    question

I would recommend the Volcano Vaporizer. I've had it for a couple years now, and still don't have a legitimate complaint. The cleaning and replacing the bags are a pain, but that goes for anything you would use.

You will get a different kind of high. My first time vaporizing was like I hadn't toked in months. However, just like smoking, I eventually became used to it. So, don't buy it just for the return of the high feeling. The only way, which I am aware of, to get more of that high feeling back is to stop doing it for a while. That's what I'm doing now. I found myself just vaping through all my stash, and feeling less and less.

You should get it for your health, though. Since getting mine, I don't have the phlegm that I had with smoking. You will get more THC out of vaping, since you're not burning the herb. Best of all, your lungs will be in better shape.

It is a big investment to get the Volcano. But, I've yet to hear anyone have a legitimate complaint (other than cost) about the Volcano. My local shop can't seem to keep them in stock.

    question

There's so many more things that can kill you statistically than the fumes from furniture or smoking aluminum. Also, I don't think you can mess up your health much more than living in a major city when it comes to fumes. Unless of course you live next to Alcoa.

I think that fume-aphobia is like germ-aphobia in that it's slightly unreasonable and mostly emotional. You're already puting a mind-altering substance into your body. Of COURSE that will have some adverse effects.

My point is that it's just not that big of a deal.

    question

"fume-aphobia"? OK. I don't care to get into name calling. Let's just say we disagree on the difference between common sense and phobia.

    question

wow, I was reading OPs post and it's just like my situation. anxiety/sleep I've tried the same heat plate one with the glass dome but I actually got super-high, but it was an OLD vape and it took like 15 minutes to heat up, so I wasn't happy with it.I finally caved in after a year of thinking about it, I just ordered the new 2008 Vapir One V5, and it'll be here in the morning. So, talk to you tomorrow.

yea you're going to be a LOT happier with the modern design.

I didn't mean to call you a name. Agree to Disagree is definitely the best policy on this. As for common sense, maybe it makes more sense to stress about far more pressing matters than the air that you're breathing in a congested city surrounded by lead-painted walls.

we'll just call it even for the common sense remark you made

Actually, there's really nothing wrong with being concerned with what you put in your body...I just try to play devil's advocate.

I agree, get a volcano, I would rather smoke from a volcano than any vaporizer, although the flavor and high seems to be a LOT different when using a vaporizer, the volcano WRECKS you nicely. And your friends will ALWAYS have a blast with a volcano in the room...guaranteed

    question

If you can afford to spend $539 on a Volcano, go for it. It has ease of use, reliability, precision, and a rock solid company behind it. But don't let anyone give you the idea you'll be getting any more efficiency with bag use than with the herbalAire for $250. I've been using mine for well over a year. If anything it's more efficient than the 'cano, easier to clean, cheaper and easier to make multiple bags, and unlike the 'cano, it does direct draw as well. Yeah, it fills bags slower than the 'cano, but I counter that by making smaller bags and just putting a new bag on for the same bowl load. You do have a separate air pump so there's more 'clutter' to the setup. And the warranty is 2 yrs. vs. 3 for the 'cano Classic (Digit is 2 yrs).Just another way to go if cost is an issue. And of course if you don't like the idea of sucking your vapor from a crinkly bag, you don't want either of these vapes.
