Topmax - how does it work?

    Hi folks

Well we are 30 days into flowering two Northern lights females. They are in a general purpose compost under a 250W Son-T and we have been feeding them using a general purpose plant nutrient with a NPK of 5-5-5.

I posted a week or so ago about our leaves yellowing and as a result of the replies we repotted this week and things would appear to be improving. Here is the link to my last thread:

    http://boards.cannabis.com/plant-pro...yellowing.html

When we repotted we added a little organic bonemeal to boost the Ph levels but we have just bought some organic topmax bloom stimulant from BioBizz which we were planning to use for a couple of weeks to help boost the buds.

I am having trouble though understanding how this can be effective. It gives a ration on the bottle of 0.1-0.01-0.1 which I assume in percentage terms means 10-1-10?

    Am I understanding this correctly?

If so, then it seems to be a very high nitrogen and potassium content and low Phosphorus content and I thought that the idea was to increase Phosphorus content during flowering?

My apologies if this is a stupid question but it seems odd to me?

Topmax - how does it work?

The NPK in TopMax is more coincidental- the real reason that one uses it is that it contains compounds that help make plants build cabohydrates, and simple sugars from which they can build these.
What this translates to is that it is not a fertilizer per se, but helps the plant maximize its production of complex carbon molecules which determine the aroma, flavor, and psychoactive effect of the plant.
To simplify even MORE, it makes your plant taste and smell better, and gives it more kick!

Thanks for your reply Stinky..I am sure all those factors are good things but I must admit I was hoping it would help to boost the actual bud sizes/yield. Nevermind.

    Thanks again for your reply.

There are lots of products out there beneficial in helping plants utilize nutrients. Some good but tons of snake oil out there.

It DOES increase bud weight slightly. But it's the QUALITY that is really helped. That is a very beneficial product.
