Electric clippers for bud manicuring
I left mine in a cup of rubbing alchahol but it was so deep it got up where the blades are joined. the bolt/whatever holds them together rusted bad.
They were probably sittin in there for a week.
So moral of the story is if you soak them, make sure its in shallow rubbing alchahol

I use charcoal lighter fluid (Naptha) to clean scissors and clippers. It's safer than most solvents since it doesn't vaporize at room temp. It also leaves a light residue of oil so you don't get rust problems.

I keep a sharp knife off to the side to scrape the blades of the scissors. When your all done just let that dry on the knife for about an hour then roll it up into a ball. HELL YEAH........GOOD SMOKE!!

Everybody, thanks for the ideas and input. This is good stuff. I love our little community here. It's amazing how much you can continue to learn once you think you've got it all down.
