    Rest in Peace Hunter Thompson

torog, earlier you said that liberals only care about themselves. your uncle shot himself, and you only talked about how hard it was for you. that is selfish. you could call me a liberal, but i don't really like to classify anyone. i believe in liberty, truth and freedom, and it seems to me that the world is lacking all of those things. how can any of you claim to be good people if all you do is hate
The above post is to be taken literally, I\'m a criminal.

What he did was what he did, it is neither agreeable or disagreeable it just is, I doubt in the few moments before he pulled the trigger he spared much thought for what ppl were going to think of his actions, if he cared that ppl were paying respects, callin him a coward or whatever. Even though we share our experiences and react to people around us, when it breaks down we are so solitary and distant from the people around us and there thoughts, that the only opinion that matters is your own, and the only person that is finally going to make the choice is you, irregardless of an outside view trying to justify it.
And if God gave us free will? Why did he lay down the commandments? and the seven deadly sins?

It was meant to be highlighting the contradictory nature of christianity, a notion that christians around the world love to endorse is that what seperates us from the animals is free will. True free will is just that, a world without morals, laws and justification, and no morals means u have lowered ureself to a beast, so there is no separation like Thompson said. The pain of being a man is thinking your are more important than what you are.
not a literal question, jus stating you can't truly be free if laws are enforced.

    Howdy Buzz,

I did not just talk about how hard it was on me..it was very hard on our entire family,I'm simply trying to describe how much pain that suicide causes to everyone involved..my pain was only a small thing-compared to his closest family.

If I was being hateful,I wouldn't care about the impact of suicide or the wrongness of glorifying those who do commit suicide. Committing suicide,is being hateful..and spiteful to one's family..and most definitely selfish.

As for being labeled,I don't know why y'all liberals dance around the truth so much..I git labeled a inbred hick-everyday..and I just let it slide right off my back. A sure sign of a liberal mind-set..is that they hate to be pinned down to any one opinon or admit when they've made a mistake and be a man about it. It's like wrestling with a greased pig. I'm sorry if I offend you,but that's my opinion and I ain't gonna give ya a different answer everytime you ask me something..If I'm wrong and feel that I'm wrong-I have no problem admitting it and trying to do better.

    Have a good one....

    Howdy Jimmi,

Sounds like you're an advocate for anarchy..too bad. There's far more that seperates us from the animals, than free will..we have souls capable of evolving and we have been made in God's Image.

So..how can a society ever form,if there are no laws enforced ? Is your desire,to return to a new Dark Age ? Do you desire the end of civilization,as we know it ?

I think you've nailed it on the head, Jimmi, you and the Good Doctor both. I find that the most human things in this world have everything to do with joy and triumph...but also sadness, pain, and strife. look at a dog, any breed, and any place in the world. he may have a master, who feeds and loves him, he may have an abusive keeper, he may be wild and free...you will never see that dog create a masterpeice sculpture, or attack other dogs based on their beliefs, you won't see that dog get married (unless they have weird owners, but nm that) and you won't see that dog kill himself.

great I go do some real work and forget my argument. probly something like dogs have no religion, so they have no wars, but they have no love, and they have no hate. so is it our faith that raises us above the dogs? our loyalty to something that may or may not be there? or is it our hatred for our own kind, the terrible xenophobia we harbor for somebody who simply believes in something different?

maybe it is our choice that allows us to call ourselves 'better'; we can conciously decide that we will be better than the dogs, we are superior because we know we are superior, and the stupid dogs can't even realize our superiority!

sometimes I wonder about all the arguing, and sometimes I wonder about war, but sometimes I wonder about cake, and cake makes me happy.

now THERE is a concept. hopefully you've found your peace, Hunter; you've touched the world, you've given hope to many, and anger to some, but you are beyond such earthly things now.
