Vaporizers: Why Should You Get One +An In Depth Review of the Silver Surfer Vaporizer
Now that the word is finally somewhat out about what vaporizers do and how they work, alot of people are starting to ask the question of why should I switch from smoking and which one I should get, both in these forums as well as my friends. So I thought it would be nice to have a why you should get one and a review of one of the best vaporizers on the market other than the very well known (and very expensive) Volcano.
Why You Should:
-First and most importantly, is your health. This is the reason most people already know but I can't stress this enough that even though weed smoke isn't as bad as cigarette smoke, smoke is bad for you period. Lighting anything on fire and inhaling it is bad for you. Vaporizers eliminate 80-90 percent of the carcinogens and toxins involved in weed smoking. Not only will this help you, it will also help our fight for the legalization of weed, especially for medical usage.
-Alot of people smoke pot in college and alot of you ask how to smoke in your dorm rooms. I'm a college student myself and back when I used to smoke blunts all the time I tried everything I could to smoke. I'd go outside in the snow to smoke in the nearby park, smoke out of a lightbulb vape, smoke with the shower on, smoke with a doob tube, smoke with the window wide open with the fan pointed out. All these methods do work, but no where NEAR the efficiency of a vaporizer. A good quality vaporizer will leave essentially NO scent. This cuts out the worst (but best) part of our beloved ganja. I literally blow out right in my room with the window closed, door closed, and my RA wouldn't know the wiser. This is one of the many ways a vaporizer will keep you from getting caught....or worse....arrested.
-Vaporizers pay for themselves quicker than you think. Don't go for the cheapo vaporizers because you aren't going to get the full experience. Do your research, find one that suits you, and spend the money. You won't regret it. You only use a PINCH of bud. I literally smoke all day off a pinch of bud. Back when I smoked blunts, I'd use 10 times as much bud (probably more) and it would only last me 3 highs. With a vape, it lasts MUCH longer, on weekdays (when I smoke MUCH less) I smoke the same bowl for 2-3 days. You also won't have to spend money on lighters, blunts, blunt wraps (etc.) What's better is that you can save the leftover duff and cook it. Now because you use less weed, you save money. On top of that, you have to pick up less weed, the less weed you pick up and have to transport to your home or where ever, the less of a chance you have of getting caught once again (sorry I'm paranoid).
-The high, although different, it still is amazing. You can literally smoke yourself silly for hours. And the taste of your bud? Oh my god, straight vapor is the purest form. You can taste your bud so much more with a vaporizer.
Now that you know why you should get one, here's the vaporizer I decided to get. It is the best investment I have ever made on my weed smoking. There are a few extreeeemeeellyyy minor quirks that bother me but overall I love it to death and wouldn't have thought to buy another other vaporizer. Great Company, Great Product (I swear I don't work for them lol)
Silver Surfer Vaporizer Review:
-I stumbled upon the silver surfer when I was in the market for vaporizers. I was tired of going out in the cold to smoke, airing out my room, wasting weed, and most importantly wanted to save my lungs.
-After doing alot of research on what vaporizers do and what kinds they were. I wanted something with style and it would be durable, silent, scentless, and compact. The volcano was too far expensive and noisy for my purposes and the vapor brothers just didn't appeal to me for various reasons. So I settled on the SSV and damn was it worth it.
-I ordered a black SSV with a grinder (that I got for a discount since i bought the SSV with it) on Tuesday night. I received it in the mail the following Monday. It was free shipping : ). Considering I live on the east coast and the company is located in colorado springs, shipping time was pretty good.
-I received it with alot of peanuts and tons of bubble wrap and boy is it beautiful (sorry for the bad pics but I only have a camera phone)13Lack Reviewed by 13Lack on . -I was really impressed with the make and build of the SSV. Strong sturdy jet black and compact. The glassware was beautiful and the cord was long enough so I could put it anywhere I wanted. The grinder was smaller than I thought it was going to be but is still a decent size. Perfect to put with the rest of your stash. Hereā??s some pics of the grinder:

-When you first get the vaporizer you have to leave it on for about ten minutes to burn off the oils from manufacturing. This is fine because it gives you time to grind up your herb, get familiar with the SSV and pack your bowl (the wand). The wand that comes with it is sturdy and heavy and has a little design in it custom for everyone. The screen is really easy to replace unlike most wands. However this does not hold true for the ground glass model. When you have the ground glass heater cover and a ground glass wand you can make it hands free. But when you try to change the screen on them because of the extra depth, it was RIDICOUSLY frustrating trying to get it in. Hell even the company had trouble putting it in because when I got it the screen was slightly dented allowing weed to fall through. Which led to me replacing it, which led to extreme frustration. But when you have the normal wand its really easy. Hereā??s some pics of the heater cover, the ground glass wand, the regular wand and the picks that come with them. The picks are also customized per customer. You can actually request them to customize your entire vaporizer from colors to dragon shaped heater covers.

-After reading the instructions and connecting the mouthpiece to the hose. I turned the vaporizer down from full power to about 1:00pm if you picture the knob as a clock. I knew this was the perfect temperature because I did a TON of research. And go figure it was. First hit was: COUGH COUGH COUGH. I was like what the hell is going on? But it turns out when I smoked I was so used to taking gigantic hits to get me high because I have a naturally high tolerance. But vapor is pure thc and that hot dry air went straight to my throat. However once I got the idea that your supposed to take small hits, hold them to make sure they absorb, and blow out nothing but air. You should not see a mist, because that mist is wasted thc, if someone inhaled it, they could get high too. But I caught myself taking huge hits and blowing out thc anyway just because I was used to smoking. When you smoke you just have to hold the wand, hose, mouthpiece attachment to the heater cover on the SSV. The wand and the cover fit in together you take your hit then put it down when your done. If you have a ground glass wand and cover you can leave the wand there, same as well if you get the hands free kit. However stock the SSV is NOT hands free. Hereā??s some pics of the attachment and such.

Vaporizers: Why Should You Get One +An In Depth Review of the Silver Surfer Vaporizer
-After a few weeks of use I was more than satisfied with my purchase but there was something missing. I just missed smoking period. Something about it. The most primitive way of intaking a substance but its just something about weed smoke in the air and smoking a blunt to your favorite music. The holding a hose and sucking out of it (no homo) was taking out that ā??naturalā? feeling I had of smoking weed in the first place. I felt technology was getting in my way. So I looked on their website and they have Ice chambers and water filters. They both do the same thingā?¦.and essentially they are just bongs. Now youā??re probably wondering why youā??d want a bong attached to a vaporizer. They claim that hot dry vapor may still irritate your lungs and the water will cool it down and re-moisturize the air as well as remove any particles that may have gotten through the screen. It sounds gimmicky and they exaggerate this a lot to sell these ā??ice chambersā? but after buying one, Iā??m really satisfied with it. With ice cold water and ice cubes the hits are nice and fresh , cool, and extra tasty. The stem is removable so you can put your ice in easily. In combination with my ground glass kit (or hands free kit) I leave my SSV on the floor and put my bong on the table and whenever I want to take a hit I just hit the bong. And yes the bong has a carb (stupid me didnā??t think it would have one and was getting bad hits). The ground glass kit is cool, but the wand slips out fairly easily so Iā??d suggest getting the hands free kit instead which is nothing more than a big clip. Hereā??s some more pics:

Overall I love this vaporizer and not only can I continue to train hard at the gym without worrying about shortness of breath, I can continue to be a peaceful pot smoker that can smoke his pot in peace. The vaporizer heats up quickly, and is much less work and money. If you donā??t get an SSV, get some kind of vaporizer, trust me, you wonā??t regret it.
Hereā??s some pics of the ground glass heater cover. I also suggest wrapping your wand in the bubble wrap to keep it protected. I hope this was helpful in some way.

I can't believe I forgot the price lol.....It's 250 on their website. However you may be able to find it cheaper elsewhere. The ice chamber (bong) costs about 80 dollars, and the ground glass kit is 45. Expensive yes, but trust me, well worth it.
Also I apologize for the typos and grammatical errors. I'm high as the sky right now lol.

Very nice summary of vapes and awesome review.
I know what what you mean about missing smoking in the primitive way. I've been doing vape only for months, but I took out my old home-made bong yesterday and lit it up and it was amazing. I think you'll always get back to what you smoked before once in a while.
The water chamber is definitely well worth it. We have an Aro-Med here we hook up to a bong for Bong hits of vape with 3 times water filtration + ice cooling. You can really tell the difference between no water filtration, 1X filtration and 3X filtration.
