Who gave you the knowledge to judge if it is just a superstition? Lets keep ignorant posts out of our forums.

If I insisted upon the existence of leprechauns, they'd call me crazy and demand proof. If I insisted that voodoo works, I'd be called crazy and proof would be demanded of me. But as soon as a supernatural, unproven believe is called "religion", we're told that we have to respectfully shy away and have no right to demand proof. This is the greatest protection that religion has created for itself; the notion that a belief must be respected just because enough people hold to it.

For those of us who live in the world of logic, however, we see no reason as to why religion shouldn't be held to the same scrutiny as any other belief. The greatest mechanism of ignorance is the belief that some things should be exempt from scrutiny, for no other reason than that believers demand they not be held to the logical standards of every other person making any other claim.

For thousands of years, mediterranian civilizations were certain that thunder was created by angry Gods, and ships were sunk by Poseidon, not atmospheric changes. Why can we question these beliefs now, but not 2000 years ago when it was popular?

if Obama was the anti-christ, wouldn't that be a good thing? according to christian tradition the anti-christ must come before the second coming of christ. so if the anti-christ is taking power, all the christians should be happy that christ is saddling up his pony to come riding down to earth. the new jerusalem is coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

obviously the anti-christ must take power otherwise the whole grand climax of the bible would be a false prophecy. it would therefore be futile to resist what god said must happen. no?

The Matrix, for example, paralells everything about christ, from immaculate conception (who're neo's parents, if not the matrix itself?) to bodily resurrection after death.

The bible is the father of Drama.


Frankly, i find it to be largely nothing more than a work of literature with some good morals sprinkled about.

This whole world is messed up because of one religion or another. fighting each other because of a god or gods.
A superstitious people wrote a book to explain what thier ignorant minds couldn't explain.
Without religion I don't think humanity would have survived the early years, But now in the modern era we have logic and techknowlogy to explain why the sun is ecliped rather then a dragon that flies through space and swallows it up and poo's it out.
We are Evolving not only in physical form but in mental form as well.
We should shed the thoughts of our evolutionary childhood and look forward to a brighter tomorow as evolved adolesent biengs as a whole. The we can stop blowing each other up,shooting each other, and look at each life on earth human and not human as a wonderful wonder.
It is when you realize there is no heaven and hell that everything you do seems to matter more because there is NO second chance. We have the power to make life better here for ourselves now, we should stop waiting for the tooth fairy to come in the middle of the night cuz it ain't happening.
