    IT ALL WENT WRONG

at first they were green, and now dying. it a little difficult to explain, but heres my best to do so. the three that u can see that are already pretty dead looking were brought to me about 2 1/2 week ago for cloning ( there all suppose to be grape ape) after pulling 50 clones i threw them under a air cooled 600 mh in a 4x4 hydro hut. my 50 clones turned yellow and dyed. after a few days my leaves started going yellow, thinking it was n deficiency i feed them with foxfram grow big. but nothing changed. meanwhile the two that still look some what salvageable brought to me about a week and half ago are going through the same process of death. about 4 days ago i transplanted them in to new soil (black gold) and just watered them with no nutes and still no change. i have the light on 24/7.

now here a funny thing, a while ago i posted a post about trying to do outdoor with clones i started inside and then after they get big enough throw them outside under a makeshift green house. my friend threw one of this same plants outside ( this plant never made it to my house but had the started same symptoms) and boom, it started to go green aging and started budding with the same soil.
see my friend was having the same problem with his clones of a different type but he thought it was nut burn so he just started giving them plain water, but that didn't work ether. so he gave up on them threw them outside in some already used soil (blackgold) under the same makeshift green house and now there starting to do fine. no nutes. and someone told me here my green house idea wouldn't work.

SORRY 4 the length, but if u could bare with me, now the clones, i pulled about 500 clones for a friend and he gave me a 100 for my help. its been two weeks, his are nice green and well rooted. we booth did the same thing, fill the trays once a day at let the soak then dump the water out spray them down here and there. mine are all fucked up looking, one side being worse then the other.
to make matters worse this guy is no pro at growing and feeds indiscriminately, dose not ph, i mean he just throws shit together and his crop is doing great.

at this point I'm a man with no solution.

I have a feeling it might not be what you are doing at all. Have you heard about this?

I don't know anything about Rapid Rooters, but yours look really saturated. Are they supposed to be that wet? I use Jiffy pellets, and while I make sure not to let them dry out, I also try to keep them from staying saturated for too long. Instead, I mist the inside of the dome a little more frequently.

Also, young clones don't need such strong light. It's overkill for a plant that's still trying to develop a root system. I noticed that when I used to clone on the far edge of an HID footprint, I'd get bad wilting. When I started cloning under fluorescents, I didn't see it nearly as much. Also, I like to cut the largest leaves on clones in half, to cut down on transpiration a little more.

I also don't know a thing about Hydrohuts, so I'd rather not offer any advice there. How well does it do at maintaining the humidity?

The problem with certain hydrohuts is that they are apparently made with some sort of vinyl or problem IN the vinyl that apparently causes some sort of gas or emission that THEN causees suffocation in cannabis plants. That link is to an announcement by the Hydrohut people admitting the issue and offering to fix any defective Hydrohat. Included in the announcement is an e-mail address so he can contact the Hydrohut people and have his fixed.

If you read the thread very carefully he pretty much says that everything that went into the hut turned yellow.....and whenever something came out of the hut it improved.
    Classic symptoms old chap!

Believe it or not it was actually the paint on the poles that was off gassing on those huts, not the vinyl...

Those units only got distributed in the Bay area, CA.

I had trouble buying this rhiz, I REALLY thought people were just whining but at another site there are HUGE amounts of people who had this problem and they were always exactly the same.....put em in...they die.....take em out...they live!

this is a damn shame, now that i've lost time money and effort i don't think i'll be sending back my tent to get "reprocessed", thanks weedhound for the info. my self esteem growing level was at an all time low, at least now i can carry on my journey to knowledge. i am keeping the poles setup, they still work for holding my light up, $400 light stand is what i ended up with then.
i would have posted sooner but comcast was failing me also for the last week.

Don't keep the poles if that was the original problem! ^^^

That hydrohut is actually a real nice unit and I'd send the poles back for replacement if I were you. It's worth it definitely. The vinyl tent part wasn't at fault and it's actually a very high quality product.

I think it's a damn shame that no one foresaw the 'hydrohut syndrome'. It makes you think about all the OTHER items in our lives that outgas when we take them out of the packaging- computer and AV equipment, furniture, that 'new car' smell, even the racks of new clothes in department stores. And FYI you should avoid microwaving food in plastic, instead of glass or ceramic, because of the instability of the plasticizers- While high density polyethelene may be inert at room temperature, and quite stable, there ARE other chemicals added to the plastic to make it polymerize when it is first made, and these are not necessarily stable. If you have ever re-heated food in a melamine dish (cheap plastic 'outdoor' party dishes, and the same material lunch trays at elementary schools are maed from), you may have noticed that you can actually TASTE the phenol!

Anyway that's our cautionary tale for the day. I'ma go put on my tinfoil hat now! lol

    :tin foil hat:
