Clones in stasis - best way?
Hi all! Suppose I want to clone a plant... I must take cuttings during veg phase, but then I don't have a (big) veg room, or I could make it, but I don't want to spend eletricity for the added Wattage.
So I was thinking about 2 options:
1 Clones in stasis in the fridge: They say I can keep it for 8 weeks. I'll keep them in the fridge for 5-6 then take 'em out to root and put them in the grow room as soon as the occupying plant is harvested (8weeks, right?)
2 Clones in vegetative stasis: to root (4-5 of 'em) them i have to put them on like 20W of fluoros 18-6. That i could afford. My question is: can I keep them under that LOW light for something like 2 months? I want them to grow VERY little or even not at all... But they must stay fit enough to grow well in veg room.
There's also a 3...
3 Take cutting 4 weeks into flowering (i.e. 4 weeks after start 12/12). As far as i have read this takes forever and rooting is not granted at all, hermies probable... etc etc...
What do you suggest? I could even try all 3... But it's a micro grow so I don't think i'll be able to take millions of cutting at the end of veg phase...

Clones in stasis - best way?
Personally I run option B.
I take clones whenever the mothers are in good condition to donate them, or when I have prepped the mothers.
The clones root within 2 weeks and then go into the corner of my veg area, where they sit under a single T12 shop light that is very high above them (over a foot) and sit there, watered and fertilized JUST enough to keep them alive and unstressed, until I need them.
Shown are a couple pics of the area where cuttings are kept, and a pic of what they look like when I put them into flower.

Neat setup stinkster, I'd rep you (like you need it) but I can't yet. How many sets of leaves do you let develop before you put them into flower SOG style?

Believe it or not, this is going to be my first SOG EVER!!! lol! And it's not even a 'real' SOG. I've been running perpetual for 3+ years and have FINALLY managed to sort out my setup so that SOG is even a real option- it's tough when you run as many strains as I try to.
I'd say that when the clone has doubled in size from when I took it off the mother, it is ready to be flipped.

Well I'm jealous. I plan to do a SOG grow one day... when enough of my clones survive to do it lol.

I used to take cuttings 2 to 3 weeks into 12/12 when I didn't have moms. Also took a couple 4 weeks into 12/12 without a problem.

tnx all...
It could be a "skunk" (though its bagseeds from something that was told to be skunk) do you know if it's easy to clone if flowering?
also i wonder... What is the SHORTEST light period I can keep my clones under to prevent budding and letting them alive but growing as little as possible.. dunno, 16/8 maybe?
I was thinking of using a 15wCFL, it'll be at most 4-5 small clones... in a very small space
I suppose it wont be easy for a noob to tell when they're weak but ok or weak beyond the point of no return...
Maybe it's better I try to clone in flowering and end of story...
