1st time grower... looking to do it right the frist time.

hello all. okay here is my setup. i'm using my closet 2'x3', only growing 2 plants for now. for lighting i have three 42 watt cfls plus one reptile light to keep it warm. my lumens are at 7800. im running an 18/6 hour schedule. my soil is good ol' Miracle Gro moisture control. i have 2 drip feeders for my own vanity, a lovley desk fan blowing around keeping the air moving and moving the plants around to help build a good stalk lol. also have an air purifier going on my top shelf, any advice???:rastasmoke::jointsmile::stoned::smokebon g:

i have heard bad things about that miracle grow moistuer control soil on these forums.. dont know from experience though

yea, miracle grow has fucked up a lot of grows around here.

on the other hand, many people have had great results with it, using the Keep It Simple Stoner method...

I used organic miracle grow for a bit but eventually switched to my own mix which proved much worse than the miracle grow.

I use Fox Farm Ocean Forest now and many on here will vouch that it is the only way to go.

the main problem with miracle grow is that it is high in peat and over time, may cause the Ph to become increasingly acidic. If you stay on that route, just monitor soil Ph, your watering water Ph, and run-off Ph.

update... here are the ladys. just now flowering, thinking of using monster bloom (0-50-30) and ideas? comments? concerns? also have been using Superthrive, not completely convinced but did noticed a good "spurt" after the first usage and so on. still using floros, (20100 lumens)

Holy shit, 00-50-30? Take it easy with that stuff.

Stop using Superthrive during flowering, as I hear it has a fairly undesirable Nitrogen content. I only use that stuff when I'm rooting clones, and even then, I use it very sparingly. 1 drop per gallon, as the bottle suggests.

And Orzy is right, you'll want to make sure you start out with a very diluted feeding regiment with the Monster Bloom. Start out at about 1/4 the recommended dosage, then gradually work your way up until you start noticing the plant telling you it's enough. Sticking with a strict (and diluted) bloom regimen is key to a successful harvest.
