Why I don't support Hillary Clinton
I mean other than the fact that she lets off as a sociopath...
During the many heated debates this election year, I've gotten a very good feel for the candidates and where they stand. Personally I'm an Obama guy (for the Dems), but more as a "lesser of evils", not that "evil" is literally where I'd place him. But Hillary, she's another matter.
Why I don't support Hillary comes down to this: She won't bring about any real change, she'll make certain problems even worse, and above all, she holds a philosophy of punishing the people into compliance. Rather than offer tax incentives and responsible program funding, I've heard her tout philosophies again and again that can only lead to economic downfall. In particular, I take issue with the following areas that she's addressed in the debates and her website.
1. She'll only worsen the illegal immigrant problem. Rather offer incentives to imigrants to legalize and become full citizens, she throws up unsurpassable roadblocks to legalization that will only push illegals into deeper hiding. She's publicly stated that she will make them pay a fine for coming into the country illegally, couching this idea in a soft and "reasonable" tone like it's no big deal for people already making $3 an hour. To make matters much, much worse, she's even gone so far as say they should retroactively pay taxes that they didn't pay while staying in the country illegally. The average American working a well-paying job couldn't afford this, much less a poor immigrant already trying to send money to their families back home. With financial burdens this extreme imposed upon illegals, nobody in their right mind would apply for citizenship facing a lifetime of debt and unpayable government robbery.
2. Like any candidate, she promises a future of clean, green energy. But, once again, she offers little to no tax incentives. Rather, she supports a $150 billion a year fund to get off of oil, $50 billion of which she intends to make oil companies personally fund. Whether or not you hate the big bad oil companies, this will only results in thousands upon thousand of oil-based jobs lost. While petroleum producers currently enjoy record profits, they will suddenly have a minimum $50 billion a year burden imposed upon them which makes me wonder; how will they be able to continue funding drilling projects, exploration, and maintaining a huge AMERICAN workforce? I hate the money-grubbing oil companies as much as the next person, but punishing big business with massive financial burdens is not the way to keep a strong economy.
How about some financial incentives, tax breaks for green energy production, and government aid for green projects?
3. Her "Universal Healthcare" plan will cost hundreds of billions of dollars, but accomplish little if anything all. She supports more of what we've already been trying to fix; government mandate of personal choices. Rather than lower health insurance rates and help those who can't afford it, she wants to make health insurance mandatory for everybody whether they can afford it or not. I've heard no mention of actually lowering those costs. Believe me, as I've seen with government monopolies on insurance here in Canada, "not-for-profit" monopolized insurance plans take little more than 10 years to turn into record-profit government industries that sap the people of choice and hard-earned dollars.
Regardless, even if she does allow people to choose their insurance companies, there's no actual, optional state-run medical system as per European models. Mandating insurance for everybody, including those who can't afford it but will recieve fines if they don't (more punishment into compliance), will simply gives Americans more of the same crap; big-insurance with skilled lawyers and accountants that can weasle their way out of paying what's due. Nowhere in her plan does she mention ensuring that Americans can get healthcare no matter what, instead she continues the same old dance, pretending that insurance companies will actually honor their obligations.
But as most Americans know, get the wrong ailment or require the wrong kind of surgery, and suddenly they find a loophole to get out of covering you. Moreover, if they find out you had a pre-existing condition prior to your insurance that neither you nor your doctors were aware of at the time, they can retroactively withdraw your insurance coverage. Then as if that weren't enough, doctors recieve financial incentives from insurance companies to not send patients to a specialist when they need it; the legality of which astounds me.
Universal Healthcare? Hardly. Americans will stay dependant on the same corrupt insurance system, fees are seldom covered 100% under most plans, patients will continue missing out on necessary specialist visits and treatments, and those who don't comply with her corrupt system will be fined. After all, giving citizens a choice is just silly, government always knows best!
4. Like I said, government knows best. That includes telling us how to be parents. Hillary's plan for improved education includes having state-run nurse home-visits to help parents develop "good parenting skills". Now government can send its workers into your home and makes sure you're raising your kids the way they see fit. And don't kid yourself, they'll be quickly reporting any "abuse" or "neglect", whether legitimate or just not quite up to snuff with the government's opinion of how you should raise your kids. Not enough vegetables in their dinner, raised your voice too often, gave them a light spanking with your hand, tell them the wrong political, racial, or religious views; before you know it the government will have to save them from "child abuse". Anybody who's dealt with the bizarre criterion and workers of Social Services knows what I'm talking about.
More government intrusion, more punishment for lack of compliance, more increases in wasteful spending, more of the same. This is why I do not support Hillary Clinton.Gandalf_The_Grey Reviewed by Gandalf_The_Grey on . Why I don't support Hillary Clinton I mean other than the fact that she lets off as a sociopath...
