Thanks for the reply Psycho. It was also my initial thought that there was little risk, until I scared myself silly doing so much research on mercury this morning.

How many of you guys have broken CFLs? And what did you do to clean up/ notice any effects later?

thanks... peace
Don't take that as being a medical diagnosis by NO MEANS! Never know, you might have a low tolorance to it. Listen to Stinky and just see someone. Better safe than sorry as they say.

If one of your plants were sick you'd look for an assist....right?

Have a good grow!
Psycho4Bud Reviewed by Psycho4Bud on . Broken CFL, Mercurcy Poisoning... PLEASE HELP! So yesterday, I accidentally broke a 26watt Daylight CFL. I didn't think anything about it and picked it up (it was still in 1 piece) and threw it in the trash (as we have no fluorescent recycling center) Last night I kept coughing alot and had trouble getting to sleep, but just figured all the coughing was from all the tokin' I do. Come to find out this morning, there is plenty enough mercury in a CFL (or in a thermometer) to evaporate into the air and contaminate an entire room. Rating: 5
