Is there a way to tie them back or just cut the leaf blade/s that are blocking the light?

But to be honest I have no problem cutting my plants in fact I prun almost all the fan leaves around week 4 or when the buds start growing strong. I know this goes completely against anything you have done. But you have seen the results I get. This is only a sugestion and may be worth an experiment in your case since you have so many plants.
